I put a thread up a couple of days ago asking for opinions on a list of names, and the name Tallie was on that list.. I love this name and I was so shocked that people hadn't heard of it! just wondering your opinions and if you have heard of it before...

It's nice. I've heard it as a shortened form of names from Mediterranean countries and also Israel.

Chocolateisfab · 03/04/2019 18:18

I knew a Talitha nn Tallie.

TillyTheTiger · 03/04/2019 18:19

I've heard of it as a shortening of Talitha, not as a standalone name

tomhazard · 03/04/2019 18:20

I know it as a shortened version of Natalie or Natalia. It's nice

PippilottaLongstocking · 03/04/2019 18:23

I love it, although if I heard it I’d assume it’s short for Tallulah

mummymonica · 03/04/2019 18:26

Thanks everyone, if we where to use it we would have it just as 'tallie' Smile

I prefer Thalia

cliquewhyohwhy · 03/04/2019 18:31

I like it or Callie.

Happyandglorious · 03/04/2019 19:39

In hebrew tali can be short for talia
Dew of Gd

BlueMerchant · 03/04/2019 19:41

I too prefer Thalia but Tallie is ok.

Divgirl2 · 03/04/2019 20:00

Don't like it as a standalone name (Tallie ho will become Tallie the ho in secondary school if it's anything like my old one).

Nice as a nickname for Talia/Thalia or even Natalie.

Namechangedforbabyname · 04/04/2019 07:34

I don't think it's a standalone name is it?! Not unless you choose to use it as one, I mean. But traditionally it would be a nickname? For Tallulah or something? Or Talitha. As a standalone name I don't like it much as it sounds a little made up/insubstantial. Nice as a nickname though.

MercyBodle · 04/04/2019 09:46

I like it as a short form for something else - Natalie, Natalia, Thessaly, Tahlia, Tallulah, but I see you have ruled that idea out. On its own I'm not keen on it as it sounds quite insubstantial to me.

Springisallaround · 04/04/2019 09:48

I think it's a lovely name! Never heard of it, but quite easy to say and probably to spell, it's very pretty. I don't see why Talia or Tallulah are better, tbh.

BarbieJellyBabyBrain · 04/04/2019 09:51

Ho.

Chart.

I do like Callie though. And Thalia.

cloudymelonade · 04/04/2019 10:08

Makes me think of Tallywhacker!

TatianaLarina · 04/04/2019 11:44

I like Talia and Talitha.

Tallie on its own is a bit twee.
