So I know it's really popular and I'm ok with that.

What do you think of the name Lily? What sort of person do you think of when you hear it? Just a bit of fun as I daydream as to what my little one will be like Smile

A gentle pretty character

sunflower332 · 25/03/2019 10:41

I know so many different Lilys that imo she can be anything really.

I love the name Lily even though I’m not keen on a lot of popular names! It’s one of those names to me that hasn’t had its sparkle dulled just because there are so many Lilys.
Makes me think of a girl who has long golden hair and who is sweet and kind! And she wears yellow sundresses in the summer and straw hats

Lovely Lily

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 25/03/2019 14:44

It’s ok, but to me it’s like Ava, Isla, Amelia and Evie, overdone.

SmallIslandLass · 25/03/2019 14:51

I keep being told how popular it is I have a primary aged lily I only know 3 others 2 in older years and one younger all spelt differently as well, must not be as popular in my area

Cbeebiesrehab · 25/03/2019 14:53

Lily is a nice name, I prefer Lilia as I find it a bit more unusual. Lily is a happy name to me.

SallyWD · 25/03/2019 15:07

Lily is a lovely name. Feminineand happy

barryfromclareisfit · 25/03/2019 16:02

Love it.

barryfromclareisfit · 25/03/2019 16:02

Lilia sounds like sanitary protection.

sunflower332 · 25/03/2019 18:14

I too prefer Lilia!

MikeUniformMike · 25/03/2019 19:13

It's nice. I'd expect a Lily to be pretty.
I don't like Lilia.

flameycakes · 25/03/2019 19:21

My youngest son would have been Lily if he was a girl, my nanas name, I love it x

WhiteWine4TheLady · 25/03/2019 19:24

I don’t think it’s as popular currently. It was everywhere when I had my first child 15 years ago.

It’s a lovely name, regardless. Timeless, classic etc.

Phantastic · 25/03/2019 19:26

Lily is lovely and popular because it is lovely, Lilia is grim!

BillywigSting · 25/03/2019 19:52

I know a liliana (nn lily) who is the single most lovely child (apart from my own ds) I have ever had the privilege of knowing, so I love the name by association.

She is very beautiful, independent, kind, sweet, intelligent, thoughtful etc etc.

Tillygetsit · 25/03/2019 23:03

One of my nieces is Lily and she's certainly a one off! She's hilarious, cheeky and bossy. She's absolutely fab.
