Alexander. It's more classic, Leo is very popular at the moment and could be a bit of a trend name.

Peachbubble · 25/03/2019 09:54

Leo

Netflixaddiction · 25/03/2019 10:00

Alexander for sure. Leo is cute. But Alexander is classic and will stand the test of time.

Eminybob · 25/03/2019 10:00

I am biased, but Alexander

WheresMyAlex · 25/03/2019 10:02

My DS is a Leo Alexander. You have great taste Grin

minipie · 25/03/2019 10:04

These are 2 of my 3 favourite boys’ names (the other is Dominic).

I think I would choose Leo because Alexander will end up getting shortened and I’m not so keen on the short forms. Also because I know a lot of little Alexanders already...

NannyPear · 25/03/2019 10:28

They are both lovely names aren't they!

I think Leo is very 'now' which is putting me off a little. Alexander is definitely more timeless. I don't mind any of the shortened versions either.

I guess we wait and see what he looks like when he comes out, but I'm enjoying hearing all the opinions so far.

Alexander
Leo is too common now

Merename · 25/03/2019 12:01

I like Alexander particularly for Sandy as a nickname.

RoseMartha · 25/03/2019 12:07

Alexander

Phantastic · 25/03/2019 12:09

Alexander without a doubt

BlueMerchant · 25/03/2019 12:17

I like both.
Leo. I think it's both classy and modern. Can imagine a Leo as confident and strong.
Alexander. Very classic.Like nn Alex. Can imagine Alexander as thoughtful and intelligent.
Grin

ShanghaiDiva · 25/03/2019 12:18

Alexander

EngagedAgain · 25/03/2019 12:26

I think they are both nice, but if I had to pick one it would be Alexander.

Barrenfieldoffucks · 25/03/2019 12:30

Alexander. I don't know many little ones tbh. Like both Xand/Xander and Alex as shortenings.

PBobs · 25/03/2019 13:13

Alexander. I only like Leo pronounced with the e as a short e like in echo. But that would be tricky in the UK. Alexander has so many nickname options. It's a great name.

Bumblebeesmum · 25/03/2019 17:59

I love both

dillytilly · 25/03/2019 20:08

Alexander!! Much more classic but Leo is very gorgeous too

YouSetTheTone · 26/03/2019 21:46

I have a Leo and an Alexander! Great taste op Grin

Love both names, so hard to advise really... Despite both being popular I don’t know any others of either in their age groups. Leo is the only one in his class and Alex hasn’t started school yet, although there is another one at his nursery.

I guess it’s a ‘wait and see’ - try them both after birth and it’ll come to you!

HunterHearstHelmsley · 26/03/2019 21:47

Leo.

Alexander is too dated. Alex or Xander would ne nice. Or Alexander as a middle name.

Nathansmommy1 · 30/03/2019 20:11

I love both but I think I'd choose alexander

DarlingLittleBabyName · 30/03/2019 21:29

I personally prefer Leo, Alexander is lovely too though x

Calixtine · 31/03/2019 07:13

Love both but I slightly prefer the simplicity of Leo.

MercyBodle · 01/04/2019 06:23

I really love both so this is a tough one. As a pp said I like the simplicity of Leo, and the 'o' ending. I like the classic nature of Alexander and the fact that there are so many good short forms - I particularly like Alec, and Lex is rather cool. No help here!
