Finally got DH on board with Asa. So it’s either:

Asa Michael; or
Ezra Michael

as a little brother to Noah.

Ezra seems like a safer choice because it’s more common though Asa is very beautiful too. A little worried there will be pronounciation issues with Asa but I just love it. Is Asa too “out there”?

I prefer Ezra

Joeybee · 23/03/2019 10:08

Ezra. I think it flows better.

popcorndiva · 23/03/2019 10:10

I love Ezra

happytobemrsg · 23/03/2019 10:16

Wow I was expecting Asa to be more popular!!

How do you pronounce Asa?

Shookethtothecore · 23/03/2019 10:20

Ezra deffo

BlueMerchant · 23/03/2019 10:20

I have no idea how to pronounce Asa either.Confused

justilou1 · 23/03/2019 10:21

I love it, but I know Asa as a Nordic woman’s name. Ezra is gorgeous.

babbaganoush · 23/03/2019 10:21

Ezra...don't know why but Asa just doesn't flow nicely to me. Presuming you are pronouncing it Ay-sah?

reallybadidea · 23/03/2019 10:22

Is the baby here? Why not just decide once you know what he looks like?

But I massively prefer Ezra to Asa, which sounds like a financial product. Sorry!

Shookethtothecore · 23/03/2019 10:25

Ezra deffo

MaryPopppins · 23/03/2019 10:36

How do you pronounce Asa?

Ass-ah?
Az-ah?

Ezra gets my vote but not a fan of either.

sweetsaltypopcorn · 23/03/2019 10:44

Definitely Asa.

happytobemrsg · 23/03/2019 10:45

Asa is pronounced “Ay-sah”

I know a little Asa, pronounced Acer. Lovely boy.

I'd choose Ezra.

EssentialHummus · 23/03/2019 10:48

Ezra

Shelbybear · 23/03/2019 10:49

Heard of neither as a first name. With Ezra ppl will think of the singer but I'd still go with that over the other one. I would not know how to pronounce it.

happytobemrsg · 23/03/2019 11:07

I think “Ezra Michael” flows better than “Asa Michael” but I’m not sure if that’s because Ezra has been the front runner for so long that I’m used to it. We are the sort of family who do say middle names so they do need to work together.

Baby isn’t here yet but when DS1 was born he looked like a gnome - I can’t imagine seeing a newborn & thinking “Ezra!” Grin. I had terrible PND with DS1 so I’d like to settle a name sooner rather than later to help with bonding (thankfully I’ve not had any issues so far Smile)

I would have called him A-sa. Like A-nna.

parttimeateverything · 23/03/2019 11:12

What about Enzo, same vibe as Ezra but less common if your concerned about the growing popularity of Ezra.

aliceandkids77 · 23/03/2019 11:22

Asa is a lovely name, I think a lot more people know it now because of the actor Asa Butterfield. Although I personally prefer Ezra, I reckon you should go with what you truly love and prefer, good luck! x

ButterflyOfFreedom · 23/03/2019 13:05

Ezra

Trinnidad · 23/03/2019 13:36

I like Asa, the first time I heard the name was Acer Nethercott, when he was cox for Oxford in The Boat Race. He went on to be in the Olympics. I thought it was a crazy name at first but it's really grown on me. Prefer the Asa spelling, which I think is more traditional. It's good if you don't like a name being shortened.

ReginaPhalange89 · 23/03/2019 13:45

I prefer Ezra.

I've never actually heard of Asa , so that might be why I'm not keen on it
