Finally got DH on board with Asa. So it’s either:

Asa Michael; or
Ezra Michael

as a little brother to Noah.

Ezra seems like a safer choice because it’s more common though Asa is very beautiful too. A little worried there will be pronounciation issues with Asa but I just love it. Is Asa too “out there”?

I love both but have met a few little Ezras recently. Asa is great.

Sophronia · 23/03/2019 23:28

I prefer Asa, it’s a great name!

Shadow1234 · 24/03/2019 00:52

I have always loved the name Ezra, so that would get my vote

Bumblebeesmum · 24/03/2019 00:55

I think probably Ezra just because I don’t know how to pronounce the other

Ezekiel is another similar name you might like

darkparadise1 · 24/03/2019 01:19

I went to school with an Asa (I'm 29 now) - pronounced ay-sa. No bullying because of it and no issues that I ever knew of with pronunciation.

lilabet2 · 24/03/2019 01:32

Asa seems like a really cool, unusual name- would it get shortened to 'Ace' maybe? I prefer it to Ezra.

Both go well with Noah though so it's just personal choice really.

LucyBabs · 24/03/2019 01:40

I'm confused if Asa is pronounced "Ay sah" how could it be shortened to Ace? Ay is pronounced like the letter I? So Asa is "I sa" not "Ace A"

MercyBodle · 24/03/2019 04:48

I much prefer Ezra.

happytobemrsg · 24/03/2019 08:40

Lucy it’s prounounced like Ace-a

Thanks happy I quite like the name and Ezra is nice too

Beckyv88 · 25/03/2019 08:26

I’d say Asa because it’s more original. There seem to be a lot of baby Ezras at the moment.

MikeUniformMike · 25/03/2019 19:11

I prefer Asa.It's pronounced Ay-sa.
I think OP should go with Ezra though.

Cbeebiesrehab · 25/03/2019 19:30

Shelbybear Ezra is not George Ezra’s surname. It’s his middle name.

I think Ezra goes better with Noah and although it’s becoming more popular Noah is already a popular name so I can’t imagine that bothering you. I like Asa too though and immediately knew how to say it. I think if you were disappointed with the responses then you may, deep down, have a favourite.

They are all lovely names so you can’t go wrong :)

Cbeebiesrehab · 25/03/2019 19:30

Shelbybear I meant that in a ‘fun fact’ way, not a bitchy way lol.

happytobemrsg · 27/03/2019 10:19

I didn’t realise that Cbeebiesrehab

Today we have decided to go with Ezra Michael! It just feels right. Thanks for everyone’s help!

Asa.

Are you religious OP? Noah and Asa sound very old testament. I love it.

TheDeathOfPop · 27/03/2019 20:26

I love both but based purely on Ezra's "of the moment" trendy feel right now, I'd go with Asa.

TheDeathOfPop · 27/03/2019 20:26

Oh crap just saw your last post! Congrats on Ezra! Great classic middle name too!

pilates · 27/03/2019 20:40

Ezra

happytobemrsg · 27/03/2019 20:55

PineapplePatty my DH is Jewish & we have an ultra Jewish surname so was mainly looking at Hebrew names

OP posts:
happytobemrsg · 27/03/2019 20:57

Haha TheDeathOfPop that’s ok! I’m also concerned about the popularity of Ezra (we picked out Noah long before it got popular) but it just feels right!

SoftBlocks · 27/03/2019 20:58

Ezra.

itbemay1 · 27/03/2019 21:02

I had a boyfriend called Asa, 25 years ago, he was lovely but I still prefer Ezra

missmouse101 · 27/03/2019 21:07

Ezra is hideous. Like Asa but isn't it a female name?
