Sorry- SIerra makes me think of a car - or a code word when spelling out loud
Maybe Sienna?

AnOwlCalledPlop · 19/03/2019 00:27

Car.

Sienna is much nicer.

ChairPoseKills · 19/03/2019 00:49

Cosworth or estate? 🤔

HeronLanyon · 19/03/2019 00:53

I like Elizabeth. I am very much less fond of Sierra. The two don’t sound right to my ear - one ultra classic and one made-up bit yoooneek to my ear. But there’s no rule to say first and middle names have to have any equivalency of style/tone etc. desperately trying to draft that rule

swindy · 19/03/2019 01:37

Err. Car?

jcq17 · 19/03/2019 01:42

I love Sierra

DramaAlpaca · 19/03/2019 01:42

I think it looks nice written down but I'm not entirely sure it works as a name.

It makes me think of a car, Spanish mountain ranges, a call sign... I'm not convinced, sorry.

But it does look & sound pretty so it's up to you.

Falafelandhummus · 19/03/2019 07:16

I think you should put Leone as a middle name.

Sierra Leone - gorgeous!

I’m joking .

Sorry I don’t like Sierra for the above reason

JimJamJarmusch · 19/03/2019 09:55

I went to school with a Sierra. She got constant car jokes.

mrsdavys · 19/03/2019 10:07

Sierra makes me think of the car

Mariposa123 · 19/03/2019 10:08

Sierra is also Spanish for saw. Weird thing to name a child in that respect...

sanityisamyth · 19/03/2019 10:30

It doesn't exist anymore. Try Mondeo.

AliceAforethought · 19/03/2019 11:48

Sierra is a nice sounding word, but has already been used for a dull, once common car named after the Spanish word for mountain range.

Can’t really imagine it being used as a name for a person.

itsabongthing · 19/03/2019 11:50

Agree with pp that leone or Leonie would make a fab second name....

How about Sienna instead? (Lovely town in Italy)

Antonin · 20/03/2019 23:32

I met a woman in California who called her daughter Sierra after the Sierra Nevadas.
I quite like it .

NuffSaidSam · 21/03/2019 02:07

It's a car.

It also sounds a bit like you're trying to say Sarah, but not succeeding.

Sarah would be nicer. Or Sienna. Or Zara. Or Sara.

Elizabeth is lovely.

Is your surname Ford?
