Gorgeous! Love it!

NuffSaidSam · 13/03/2019 21:32

Awful. Good name for a pony though. Or maybe a rabbit.

Morgan12 · 13/03/2019 21:35

I like it. Almost used it actually.

HeyCarrieAnneWhatsYourGame · 13/03/2019 21:36

Ooh no, it’s a hard pass from me.

LinenLou · 13/03/2019 21:37

I want to like it & I love nature names but I just can't bring myself to see Meadow as a human name. It makes me think of horses too. I feel it's a bit too airy fairy for a serious human girl name.
If you really do love it I would suggest it as a middle name though. I love a good unusual middle name.

GinUnicorn · 13/03/2019 21:40

Love it but think I’d be too wimpy to use

glitterbiscuits · 13/03/2019 21:41

Do you watch The Sopranos OP?

Usingmyindoorvoice · 13/03/2019 21:45

Never heard of it before, but it’s rather lovely .
I guess be prepared for Meddy

icanthelpyou · 13/03/2019 21:46

Sopranos

Wauden · 13/03/2019 21:52

Ok if the child doesn't mind the song:
"One man went to mow
Went to now a meadow..."
Awkward!

Fairenuff · 13/03/2019 21:53

This is the second Meadow thread this week. Either OP has name changed or it's very popular.

Disfordarkchocolate · 13/03/2019 21:55

I would go for Hayley which means from the field or hay meadow.

Dippypippy1980 · 13/03/2019 22:00

I struggle to picture a fifty year old lady called meadow.

Or the ceo of a multinational.

Your daughter may want to change it.

fairybeagle · 13/03/2019 22:02

I think it's really lovely OP :) and can imagine it on an old lady and a CEO

MsMustDoBetter · 13/03/2019 22:10

I would never say such a thing but someone I know said "it's a bit Essex". I didn't take that as a favourable response.

HighestMountains · 13/03/2019 22:36

It's ridiculous.

IVEgottheDECAF · 13/03/2019 22:38

Love it

BartonHollow · 13/03/2019 22:38

I really like it but probably wouldn't be brave enough to use it, and would be annoyed by constant

"Sopranos fans?" Querying

HappyGoLuckyGo · 13/03/2019 22:40

Just no. Come on.

Hazlenutpie · 13/03/2019 22:40

Sopranos

nocoolnamesleft · 13/03/2019 22:43

I've known several people called Meadow, but for all of them its a surname.

AuntieStella · 13/03/2019 22:51

I've never come across it as a first name, and don't take to it.

(I'm not that wild about any surname name, though sometimes they are OK on boys).

Mamaryllis · 13/03/2019 22:51

I know one. She has brothers called Ocean and Forest.
Once you get over the double-take, it’s fine. Just names. But it’s perpetual. It’s not as if every new person she meets isn’t going to do the whole ‘huh. Meadow. That’s... huh’ routine. It must get old.
The kid herself doesn’t epitomize meadows in any way. She isn’t particularly sunny, or wafty, or run around trailing her fingers through long grass. She’s at school and is an ordinary kid.

Twelve8Ts · 13/03/2019 23:51

Love it. Know a 7 year old Meadow. Cute
