Anna or Yael, James or Aragorn.

FluffyMunchkin · 13/03/2019 21:35

Sabrina and Gilbert "Gill"
Apparently I cannot name our child after someone... And gills are only for fish.

He would have chosen Rosa and Luther.
Rosa is ok, but Luther is "loser" with a lisp.

IrianOfW · 13/03/2019 21:46

Idone. DH told me not to be so stupid

novasglowx · 13/03/2019 22:06

Rain. But DD's first name had always been on my list and also happened to be the paternal grandmother's name. She was dying and we promised we'd name our daughter after her so we did.

lostlalaloopsy · 13/03/2019 22:22

Sylvie, Kerr, Isla.

I do love my dc's names though, but still a bit gutted we didn't use Sylvie!

AGBforever · 14/03/2019 02:07

My first born was always Valentina, I knew I was pregnant with a girl way before tests, and she 'told' me her name... my second was trickier as our slightly odd mtf trans sonographer insisted at our 12 week scan she was a boy...corrected at our 20 week scan - I would have gone with Artemis, but my now ex-H did't like it, or pretty much anything else I suggested so as we ran out of time to legally register her, we found Aurelia in our 6th baby name book. Neither of us were really happy with it but now its part of her so...

Ribbonsonabox · 14/03/2019 02:13

I had Sylvia vetoed by my mother who was horrified by it lol!
Fuchsia was also a favourite name but was vetoed by my DH.
We agreed instantly on our sons name, luckily both loved the same one!

costacoffeecup · 14/03/2019 02:36

Elizabeth and James.

liamhemsworthsrealwife · 14/03/2019 03:52

I worry about what my dh will want to call our first child Grin He likes names like Steve or Bruce or Wayne. I'm going to end up with a kid named Steven Gary.

I was a single parent with my first dc. I called him what I wanted Wink

Birdie6 · 14/03/2019 03:59

Katie - but my sister had named her DD Catherine and thought the names were "too close - my DD might want to shorten her name to Katie ". Her Catherine is an adult now and still calls herself Catherine - still makes me mad that I was so easily dissuaded from my favorite name.

NorthernRunner · 14/03/2019 13:11

I wasn’t 100% sold on DDs name when she was born but DH and I couldn’t agree on a girls name at all. However now I couldn’t love it more

KingMash · 14/03/2019 22:03

Eldest would've been Chloé but I'm glad she's not as it turned out to be mega popular for her age (7 or 8 in her year at high school). Ex picked her name, not at all common where we live and suits her

DC2, I picked
DC3 Orson, but DP didn't like it (too similar to arson apparently!) In fact there was only one name he was really happy with so that's what DS ended up being called. I wasn't sure at first but it suits him

TheLoneWolfDies · 14/03/2019 22:12

Archie

CookieSwirlC · 14/03/2019 22:19

Dd1 would have been Mabel (stupid pregnancy hormones as I hate it now!)

Dd2 would have been Vada, which I still love.

If we had had boys I liked Sullivan, Samuel and Max.

LittleCandle · 14/03/2019 22:22

I got what I wanted for both DDs. XH said he would name any DS that came along, but we had already agreed on not naming after anyone (both families something of a nightmare in that respect) and then started trotting out names 'after...' I was really worried, but fortunately both babies turned out to be girls. I was also concerned about his utter lack of spelling ability (laziness, as he could spell when he wanted to) and shite memory for dates and so wrote everything down for him to go and register each birth. Luckily for him, he managed to get it right both times.

FunnysInLaJardin · 14/03/2019 22:27

Luckily we both agreed on Fabian and Raphael.

Hester and Eliza if they had been girls

bluechameleon · 14/03/2019 22:52

Robert and Robert. Since I probably wouldn't have named DS2 the same as his brother, he would have been Toby or Gabriel.

Hoolahoophop · 14/03/2019 23:02

Verity and Thea

Monst3ra · 14/03/2019 23:09

Henry, Percy and Barnaby

EsmeeMerlin · 14/03/2019 23:11

My youngest son would have been either Dermot or Nicholas if it had been my decision. Dermot is his middle name though because I love it so much. I still will look at ds2 and wish I pushed for it more. I like his name but it’s not my favourite.

My eldest has the name I wanted.

icarriedaturnip · 14/03/2019 23:39

They would’ve been the same, I chose the first names and then DH chose the middle names as he wanted something very specific and I wouldn’t allow that as first names. They’re called James, Isaac, Adam and Oscar

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 14/03/2019 23:43

I chose DS's first name and DH chose his middle name. Luckily we both loved each other's choices and DS is happy with his name. If he had been a girl, I wanted to go with Aly-Louise Mary. He preferred Alison Louise - I have to say 18 years on that I agree with him and blame the hormones!!

TheSandman · 14/03/2019 23:47

I really. I mean really seriously (we had arguments about this) wanted to call my son "Toshiro Thundercats" but my wife vetoed it.

His older sisters are named Holly and Daisy so, keeping in the botanical theme, 'Potato' was on the short list for a while.

TheSandman · 14/03/2019 23:53

...and I liked the idea of reviving some really ancient name. Ethelred, hengest something like that. I had my heart set on 'Cnut' for a while - till I realised it was an anagram.

SurgeHopper · 14/03/2019 23:54

Karl and Astrid
