DD1 would be the same as she is. I love her name.

DD2 would have been called Callista or Callisto. Instead her name is something I like rather than love, which is also how DH feels about it (I found this out after we'd named her). It was on my 4th shortlist (of 10-ish names on each) after all the others had been discarded because he just didn't like them for no specific reasons. He always tries to say it was my choice, but really it was a huge compromise with his fussiness. I wish I'd thrown a pregnancy tantrum and insisted on something from list one now instead of ending up with a name we both think is 'ok' Sad DD2 seems to like it though and I love her middle name, so it's not all bad.

@Aliceandkids77, my baby DD is called Iris. I love it too. My DH didn’t like it when I first suggested it but came round to it in the end!

Mmmhmmokdear · 12/03/2019 14:14

DC1 would have had her middle name as her first name - Jasmine.
DC2 would have been Claudia.

deathbycats · 12/03/2019 14:26

Joseph/Joey and Bridget.

RuthW · 12/03/2019 16:08

Rosemary

Matthew... vetoed by his whole family. They had an employee who couldn't say his son's name and called him Maf-Eww

crisscrosscranky · 12/03/2019 16:14

Ffion and Nancy

DD1 is 11 and thanks her father regularly that she is not a Ffion (I have welsh heritage but we live in SE England). She also says Nancy is an old ladies name so perhaps I just have awful taste 🤣

Sophronia · 12/03/2019 16:26

Susannah or Alexander

Anerak · 12/03/2019 19:30

Penelope and Samuel

Shmithecat2 · 12/03/2019 19:33

Matthew

WhiskersPete · 12/03/2019 19:33

Anouk

With no input from DH I'd have chosen Cecily and Dominic but DH hates both! If it was just him he'd have picked Elizabeth and Jack.
We have a boy and a girl but the names are both nothing like any of these!

Ellieboolou27 · 12/03/2019 19:37

I got to choose both, although I have excellent taste Grin

mathanxiety · 12/03/2019 19:51

Niamh, Aoife, Bridget/ Alice, Colm, Lara.

SparklesAndUnicorns · 12/03/2019 20:10

I wanted to name my eldest Skylar but she ended up being Ruby, I was single by the time I had my second and their dad wanted nothing to do with my son so I picked his name myself and it was great not having to compromise with anyone 😁

Moonflower12 · 12/03/2019 20:30

@Bamchic
My DD is a Zara. She loves seeing 'her' shop! DP chose her name and had no idea that it was a shop.

I would have chosen Alexandra. Lexi for short. (From Monarch of the Glen!)

I wanted my son to be Kingdom- he is very glad it was vetoed and he has a 'normal' name.

greenlynx · 12/03/2019 20:36

We have one DD and she would have the same name as I chose it. DH didn’t mind.

Justgivemesomepeace · 12/03/2019 20:36

Saskia and Gabriel or Joel if it was my choice.
We couldnt agree on anything. He wanted names like Carter or Parker. We settled on Leah and Lucas.

grincheux · 12/03/2019 20:37

Chastasius. I wish I was joking.

grincheux · 12/03/2019 20:38

Ack - oops - that would've been DH's choice I mean!

DramaAlpaca · 12/03/2019 20:38

The names they have. DH agreed with all my suggestions.

IdblowJonSnow · 12/03/2019 20:40

It was my choice. Why would it not be after going through all that?!Hmm

Chinks123 · 12/03/2019 20:44

I liked Isla the first time round, but dp ended up choosing dds name.

This time I wanted Connie but we’re having a boy, and I chose his name! Dp tried putting a few (horrendously awful) suggestions in but no way was he deciding twice.

TinklyLittleLaugh · 12/03/2019 20:57

I liked Dylan (the musician) and Tyler (the rebel) DH dismissed both on grounds of chavviness. Liked Rose for girl but someone stole it. All my kids have ended up with very classic, timeless names.

Octavia
