Just looking for inspiration really. Thought I'd try a different approach.
Current DC middle names are Dillon and Morgan.

Thomas - after family
Lucy - after family
Rose- because it was nearly chosen as a first name.

BoswellsBollocks · 11/03/2019 17:54

Andrew - a family name
Jacob - couldn’t agree on a family name that sounded right, this was the only name that seemed to flow. I don’t even like it that much Blush

curiositycreature · 11/03/2019 17:55

@cheesyweez this is interesting! DS1 on the way and I really don’t want him to have a middle name. Good to hear someone say they don’t have one and are happy with that.

LashesZ · 11/03/2019 17:56

May. Although everyone seems to be someone-Mae nowadays.

May was my grandmothers name. She died when my mum was 10. When I had DD my mum said the only time she really truly missed her mum was when I was born.

breadwidow · 11/03/2019 17:59

DS: Jarvis, after Jarvis cocker & sounds good after his first name
DD: Polly, kinda after Polly Jean Harvey but I also just really like the name but didn't want her first name to end in 'y'

fortifiedwithtea · 11/03/2019 18:00

DD1 Nicole because it was the only name we could agree on that went with her first name. She hates it.

DD2 Mae after her Great Aunt whose middle name is May. They both love it

We agreed that our children would be named after our closest friends. By which I mean our first son would have my husbands closest friends name as his middle name. Our first daughter would have my closest friends name as hers.
We thought it was nice as we knew we wouldn't be getting them christened due to the fact we are different religions. So as they won't ever be godparents (they would have been if christenings were an option), we'd use their names as middle names instead.

notisaidthesparrow · 11/03/2019 18:35

Hanna
George
Thomas
Robert

Three are middle names/first names/surnames of family members.
George is after St George as DH and DC are welsh and I am English.

icarriedaturnip · 11/03/2019 18:36

Edgar, David, Stanley and Wes

Bluffinwithmymuffin · 11/03/2019 18:42

Christian
Clement
Rose
DD is 25 today. When we chose Rose I thought it was a bit different, can you believe- now it’s got to be one of the most used middle names in the UK. Still love it though Smile

LooksBetterWithAFilter · 11/03/2019 18:51

Aimee because we liked it and it went well with her first name.
William as ex and I both had a grandpa Bill so we never offended either side.
Eric it was late FIL middle name and I loved the name so ds2 got it as a middle name and he likes it.

ASqueakingInTheShrubbery · 11/03/2019 19:09

Louise, family name on both sides and not as overused in her generation as it is in mine.

FrangipaniBlue · 11/03/2019 19:23

Ambrose

I initially picked it because I liked it then DH told me it was the name of his DGF who died when MIL was only young, so that was it sold to me Smile

DancesTheSummer · 11/03/2019 19:24

Marie
Louise
Elizabeth
Gillian
Joy

Only one of these is my DDs middle name but the others were in the running

JimJamJarmusch · 11/03/2019 19:24

We haven't used middle names. I don't have one, and growing up most people I knew didn't like theirs - not having one felt quite special! Perhaps it's not having one, but I never really understood the point of them. I understand people like to use something that's meaningful or a tribute to someone - but I still don't really get what it's for. A spare while your actual functional name is in the wash? Smile
