Too similar?

I love the name Eleanor but I already have a Leonard. Do you think they’re too similar? There will only be a years gap so will be shouting their names out together quite a lot I’d imagine.

Um, I am not sure. If they get shortened to Ellie and Leo they don’t sound as similar but I’d probably try and find another name I liked.

Maybe a bit of a mouthful shouting Leonard and Eleanor. Both lovely classic names but I'd choose something else.

He gets called Len or Lenny rather than Leo. Was thinking Eleanor could possibly also get shortened to Len or Nelly which would be confusing

Too similar and Len and Nell look you might have deliberately chosen Eleanor in order to have Len and Nell (ie to reverse his name to make her name). Do you like Helena? the 'len' sound in Helena (pronounced Helen-a rather than Hell-ay-na) seems less pronounced to me. Probably still a bit too similar though really. Eloise maybe?

There are just so many names out there, I don't know why you'd pick something so similar!

They look more similar written down than they sound. I don't think this would be too big a problem in everyday life.
