Which one would you chooseGrin

P.s. I think Ayla is pronounced like A-lah, Cassia is pronounced like Cas-see-ah. Not really sure about Delia, is it Deh-lee-ah or Dee-lee-ah?

Cassia is the nicest

coffeeandrainbows · 08/03/2019 12:57

Cassia or Ayla are my favourites, although I would pronounce it Eye-la if I saw that name, so not sure if that influences your choice.

123Flopsy · 08/03/2019 13:27

I thought Ayla was pronounced Ay-la (rather than A-la)

I prefer Cassia though.

TonightJosephine · 08/03/2019 14:16

I like Ayla but would pronounce it like Isla, so you would probably have some pronunciation issues.

Cassia is nice but I prefer Cassandra.

Delia (Dee-lee-ah) is pretty, maybe slightly dated (Delia Smith springs to mind), but I don't think it's ever been popular enough to really date it, and maybe it's due a revival?

Wallabyone · 08/03/2019 14:18

Ayla is usually the Turkish form of Isla and pronounced the same way. Delia is Dee-lia the UK, but I knew an Italian woman who was definitely De-lia with the short 'e' sound.

queenqueenqueen · 08/03/2019 14:22

Im not a huge fan of any 🙈 but Ayla is probably best of the 3 - I also thought Ayla to rhyme with Layla not Isla so you may have some pronunciation problems

Saffrona · 08/03/2019 14:34

I like Ayla if pronounced like Isla. Not a fan of any of not. Sorry

daisypond · 08/03/2019 15:46

I wouldn't know how to pronounce Ayla at first sight. I'd say Ay-la. It seems a bit bland to me. I like Cassia, but Delia is nice - that could grow on me.

Peachbubble · 08/03/2019 15:58

Cassia. Not keen on the other two.

123Flopsy · 08/03/2019 20:18

I'm surprised that Ayla wouldn't always be pronounced as it is written, Ay-la?!

UserUserUser1 · 08/03/2019 20:21

I have an Ayla rhymes with Layla, Kayla etc.

Everyone pronounces it Isla or Alya.

I get funny looks and "where did that name come from" but I don't care I love it. Wanted to use it with my firstborn but chickened out so 5 and a half years later I chose it for my next baby.

Bumblebeesmum · 08/03/2019 20:34

Cassia

YoungBritishPissArtist · 08/03/2019 20:38

I think Cassia is pronounced Cash-uh?

ChaosMoon · 08/03/2019 21:06

Love and adore Delia. Was utterly gutted when DH vetoed it.

WelcomeToGreenvale · 08/03/2019 21:09

Casia or Kasia would be ca-shah, PP. Cassia is the cheaper version of cinnamon.

I prefer other names beginning with Cass, like Cassandra or Cassidy.

MollyHuaCha · 08/03/2019 21:14

Delia

Melonwater · 09/03/2019 08:40

Cassia but I like it pronounced Cash-uh

Otherwise Ayla.

I don't really like Delia

Ribbonsonabox · 09/03/2019 08:43

Delia!

MercyBodle · 09/03/2019 08:44

Cassia is the only one of these I like.

babysharkah · 09/03/2019 08:47

Isn't cassia a bark used in cooking?

behindlocknumbernine · 09/03/2019 08:47

I think I would pronounce Ayla like Ay (as in hay) - lah.
Not sure if I am in the minority or if you end up with many folk pronouncing the name wrong. It is my least favourite in your list.
Cassia reminds me of Casio calculators and watches. But I love Cassie (esp if short for Cassandra).
I really like Delia (which I think is pronounced Dee-lee-ah)
