Name for dd2

I am really struggling naming dd2 due this summer, dd1 is called Shelley-May and was named after my sister who died of cancer so her name was never really debated (although in hindsight I was I hadn’t hyphenated it)
I’m finding it really hard to choose a name as nothing feels as right as her name did and there is no one else I would want to name this baby afternoon, my husband likes Bonnie and Aurelia and I have toyed with Constance and cadence but still very open to suggestions - please help

Out of all the names. I only like Bonnie. Connie is oksy. However I don't like Constance. Its too harsh.
More suggestions.
Summer
Coral
Tamara
Tabitha.
Talia
Faye
Lindy
Tammy
Cassie
Tori

Well I like Aurelia but feel there may be issues with pronunciation. Some people won't know how to say it. You'll get "Ow-relia" and "Or-relia" which will be irritating.

Cadence sounds very American. Bonnie is a bit like a dog.

My personal loves are

Tabitha
Guinevere (dramatic and not everyone's cup of tea I know)
Violet
Posie
Rose

Hmmm I’ve never been a fan of Bonnie, feels like a horse or dog name.
I like Aurelia in theory, but can make me think of areola, and she would face pronounciation issues.
Constance feels too severe
Cadance to American.

You may like:

Instead of Bonnie: Belle, Bella, Marnie
Instead of Aurelia: Aurora, Ariella, Amelie, Celine
Instead of Constance: Verity
Instead of cadence: Candida (haha this ones a joke!)...perhaps cecilia?

If I had to pick one of your names then probably Constance or Aurelia.

You could easily take the hyphen out.

With Shelley May .... I like

Bridget
Eva
Laura
Olive
Kate

StayingWithAuntySue · 07/03/2019 06:30

Of you wish you had to hyphenated - just stop doing it?

Shelly is quite a 70s/80s name so along that theme I’d choose

Nicole
Louisa
Samantha
Jody
Danielle

Icklepup · 07/03/2019 09:33

Eloise
Clementine
Vera
Calla
Marina
Ottilie

Really sorry to hear about your sister.

I like Cadence and think it goes the best with Shelley.
I quite like Aurelia but don't think it works with Shelley at all.
Not keen on Constance but do like Connie. Bonnie I'm less keen on but it's quite sweet.

Naturally, I would put Shelley with other names popular in the 70s/80s/90s:
Amy, Beverley, Caroline, Claire, Courtney, Chelsea, Chantelle, Danielle, Emma, Fiona, Hayley, Jade, Joanne, Kimberly, Kayleigh, Kelly, Kerry, Lisa, Leanne, Laura, Michelle, Melissa, Nicola, Nicole, Natasha, Natalie, Paige, Ruth, Sarah, Samantha, Stephanie, Simone, Stacey, Shannon, Tracy, Tina, Tara, Valerie, Zoe

But, if you want something more modern/still popular, I also think it goes well with:
Amber, April, Alicia, Alexis, Amelie, Bethany, Chloe, Darcey, Eloise, Georgia, Holly, Jessica, Katie, Lauren, Lottie, Lois, Molly, Poppy, Penny, Ruby, Rosie, Sienna, Stella, Tilly

IHeartKingThistle · 07/03/2019 23:58

I think Shelley sounds cute and retro and Bonnie goes great with it.

MercyBodle · 08/03/2019 04:21

Bonnie is appealing and I think it goes really well with Shelley. I think Aurelia sounds over the top next to Shelley (and everyone has a different pronunciation of Aurelia which would drive me crazy).

And I agree with pps - just stop using the hyphen.

Sessy19 · 08/03/2019 04:34

Like @manicinsomniac, I think Cadence goes quite nicely with Shelley. Cadie for a Bn?

Sessy19 · 08/03/2019 04:34

Nn*!!!

LarkDescending · 08/03/2019 06:56

Audrey?

Lllot5 · 08/03/2019 10:49

Constance is lovely I think
Matilda I like too bit over done maybe.
I’m old fashioned I think when it comes to names.
Elizabeth, Katherine, Anne, Mary.
Some would say boring I guess just have what you like. Sometimes the name occurs to you once you see your child too.

daisypond · 08/03/2019 10:53

I really like Cadence. I'm not wild about Bonnie or Aurelia. Constance is nice, but there's something lovely about Cadence.

Sophronia · 09/03/2019 18:19

I think Bonnie goes well with Shelley.

mrsdavys · 09/03/2019 18:35

Bonnie!
