I don't get the revulsion over surnames as first names. Brodie seems so inoffensive to me.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 06/03/2019 16:00

Cason... 😂

Poor child will spend a lot of time saying "No, not Jason". For their entire life.

calpop · 06/03/2019 16:02

I like surname names. I think Carson is better than Cason though. Brodie better that Brody but getting very common.

Littlefish · 06/03/2019 16:03

Neither.

Loopytiles · 06/03/2019 16:04

Both are dire.

LeekMunchingSheepShagger · 06/03/2019 16:04

Cason is a new one on me. Did you make it up?

I quite like Brodie.

BlueMerchant · 06/03/2019 16:07

I don't like them. At all.
Not sure you would like my suggestions but some I like are
Issac
Owen
Aiden
Luke
Oliver
Sonny
Adam

Brodie is a traditional Scottish name. Not American, not faddy etc etc etc.

AliceAforethought · 06/03/2019 16:14

Never heard of Carson before... can’t say I like it, either.

Brodie if spelt like that is just about OK.

AliceAforethought · 06/03/2019 16:15

*Cason!

My spellchecker has never heard of it either,

Jsmith99 · 06/03/2019 16:22

I’m fairly sure Brodie is the correct spelling. It’s OK, but it sounds very American which isn’t an issue if you’re American, of course.

Cason sounds made-up. The poor kid would be going through life saying “no, not Jason, Cason. No, not Mason either. C-a-s-o-n. Cason”.

TatianaLarina · 06/03/2019 16:44

Broadly, Brodie is Scottish, Brody is Irish.

icanthelpyou · 06/03/2019 16:45

No.

poppet31 · 06/03/2019 16:51

Is Cason even a name? Brodie is okay but I wouldn't go with either as I prefer classic names that won't date.

ApolloandDaphne · 06/03/2019 16:55

I like Brodie but the only two i know are both females.

Cason is terrible. I'm not even sure how to pronounce it. Cay-son or
C-ass-on?

pilates · 06/03/2019 17:41

Awful, sorry

Neither are nice, sorry.

FiddleFaddleDingDong · 06/03/2019 17:46

How has a surname like Goodwillie not died out? Grin

Passing a horror like that on to some poor baby is crime against humanity! (only slight exaggeration).

starryskies4 · 06/03/2019 17:48

Eek, I have to be honest and say they're both pretty bad I'm sorry.

ValleyoftheHorses · 06/03/2019 17:53

Neither are nice, sorry.

Bumblebeesmum · 06/03/2019 18:00

Both awful to me but I’m just one person

Icklepup · 06/03/2019 18:03

Dislike both but would say Brodie

spaniorita · 06/03/2019 18:05

Neither, unfortunately they both sound a bit made up to me. How about Corey?
