We are due a baby girl in May and, as our last baby was born at 29 weeks, it's been a stressful pregnancy to say the least and I'm counting down the days until full term! I thought that maybe the name May might be a good way to celebrate a healthy baby. However, does it remind people too much of Theresa May??? 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

I think May is lovely!!

RayaJambalaya · 03/03/2019 20:46

I'm not fond of the name, but it didn't make me think of Theresa May until mentioned her.

Whatififall · 03/03/2019 20:47

There’s a May in my nephew’s baby group and I can honestly say I’ve never thought of Theresa May whenever I’ve thought of her. It’s pretty.

17caterpillars1mouse · 03/03/2019 20:48

May is a lovely name and very refreshing in the first name spot. It is lovely and has a lovely sentiment behind it too

It doesn't make me thing of Theresa May at all

BlueMerchant · 03/03/2019 20:48

It's nice. I wouldn't have thought of Theresa May!

SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 03/03/2019 20:50

It's really sweet.
Doesn't make me think of TM

KateTTC123 · 03/03/2019 20:55

That's good to hear!!

Old fashioned ones are the best. My gran was a May and she was born in 1909. Though she thought it was unimaginative to be named after the month she was born in.

Crystalblue13 · 03/03/2019 21:02

I really like May, it’s a pretty name.

Peachbubble · 03/03/2019 21:20

I like it. Wouldn't associate it with the PM.

villainousbroodmare · 03/03/2019 21:22

I think it's lovely.

DramaAlpaca · 03/03/2019 21:47

It's nice, simple and pretty.

Lozboz22 · 03/03/2019 21:50

Mae as a slight variation ?

HumptyNumptyNooNoo · 03/03/2019 21:55

I was going to suggest Mae too !

milienhaus · 03/03/2019 21:57

Maya maybe, or Mabel? But May is nice!

missmouse101 · 03/03/2019 21:57

May sounds pretty but every other child has it as their middle name!

Abcdefuck · 03/03/2019 22:07

It is a common middle name including my daughters but it is netherless a beautiful, simple name & I really love it as a first name, much less common. Good choice OP, good luck with everything Smile

DaisyChainsForever · 03/03/2019 22:15

I love May as a name, it would definitely be on my shortlist if I ever have a girl. Mae is a lovely alternative spelling. As is Mabel, with May as a nickname. I've never thought of Theresa May when hearing the name.

MumUnderTheMoon · 03/03/2019 22:16

May is lovely could also be spelt Mae.

Whoops75 · 03/03/2019 22:20

It’s quite plain and used a lot as a second name, know lots of Ella-May. Lily-Mae etc

Tillygetsit · 03/03/2019 23:18

It's lovely. Personally I really dislike the Mad spelling.

HappyDinosaur · 04/03/2019 00:41

It's a nice enough name, it doesn't make me think of the PM, but I do find it a bit on the weak side. However, that's personal preference, like I say it's nice, I see it as sort of like Mia, Chloe or Lauren in style.

KirstyT11 · 04/03/2019 04:17

I love may. And I think it's cute with it being born in may.

SallyWD · 04/03/2019 07:22

It's a lovely name and not overused. I love it.

PepsiLola · 04/03/2019 09:45
