Am just looking for some opinions on our short list. Expecting a baby in less than a month and currently have no name picked out. For context, we are in Ireland and baby is likely to go to private school so I don't see name teasing as a big issue. Middle names are probably going to be Dominic or Elizabeth/Myrtle but open to opinions on these also.
Boys
Magnus
Ardhal
Iarlaith
Art
Bram
Vincent
August
Alasdair
Have slightly less for girls as find them much harder but
Afric
Sibeal
Edith
Fiadh

Thoughts ??

Alasdair Dominic
Sibeal Elizabeth.
They are not to my personal taste but these are probably my favorite two.

I like Alasdair, Magnus and Bram (although prefer Bran).

Bram! Love that name and obviously Bram Stoker was Irish, so nice link.

I think Afric should be spelt Aifric? Not keen on it though.

Really like Sibéal, it's such a nice word to say.

Magnus Dominic
Edith Myrtle

Art and Sibeal

I love Sibeal & Fiadh - though Fiadh is getting popular in case that bothers you. Sibeal needs a fada on the 'e', but I can't do it on my tablet.

For boys I like Magnus & Alasdair, neither of which are popular here. I also like Ardhal.

Ardhal and fiadh

Vincent

Love Art, it’s on our list as 2nd choice but we are having doubts about our first so it may come up trumps for us.
Also like Bram and Ardhal (although comparisons with ardal o’Hanlon fr dougal may be made by folks of a certain generation)
Other Irish names I love are Feilim and Aodh. But living in the UK I don’t think they’re for us... but maybe for you?
Aifric for a girl is also lovely

Sophronia · 04/03/2019 22:26

I like Iarlaith Dominic and Aifric Elizabeth
