Hi! I need some help finding the perfect name for my friend’s girl, and it’d be a huuuuuge help if you give us some suggestions.

My friend’s daughter is 14 years old, her family immigrated to the States when she was five. My friend changed her daughter’s name to an English name in the school papers, and at that time she thought it sounded pretty, but she didn’t know that the name sounded drastically similar to a dirty slang term (her English is still not that good). It’s already been nine years, but her family is thinking of moving to a different state soon, and after some discussion the whole family agreed to change her name to a different one that won’t get the kid teased all the time by her classmates.

Anyway, I’ll give you a brief description of the daughter. And please, I saw a similar thread that described a girl and some comments were like, “She’s all grown up, let her have the right to choose her own name”. So I’m telling you guys that the daughter asked me first if I can post this on the online community for her, as she doesn’t have any names that she particularly likes. She just wants one that will suit her well.

Description: 14-year old Korean-American girl, last name is “Choi”. Medium-tall-ish height with a thin figure with long legs (kind of like a short model). On the pretty side, funny, outgoing and likes outdoor activities (but not as much to be called “bubbly”). Shy when you first meet her, smiles and laughs a lot. Many people say she’s cute.
Has good fashion sense (even better than me or her mom lol). She doesn’t like flashy dresses or anything overly girly, but likes to dress in a clean, dandy way, such as slacks, coats, turtlenecks.

P.S. She doesn’t care what alphabet the name starts with, but she would prefer it start with an E, and not start with an A.

Thank you!!

It would be better not to end in and y/ee sound, as Choi repeats that.

I think Ella and Eva sound the best with Choi, while very popular here, may not be so common in the US. Eden also works.

Ellie, Esme, Eden. The E is quite limiting so other suggestions are:

Zara, Zoe, Sadie, Ramona, Daisy, Skylar, Harriet, Jemima, Jasmine.
