Hi dolls,
I asked about Molly Alice/Scarlett Alice a few days ago, and now that my baby will be soon (I’m in labour rn and the effort to write this has been very hard to find!) I’ve realised I should go with the name I’ve loved FOREVER and it’s been my favourite name before Pop’s was born.
Betty has been my favourite, and I’m going with it because isn’t Betty Alice just darling?
Its set in stone so please no mean comments, I just wanted to know how Poppy and Betty sound together to you lovely ladies, especially because they are names in very different styles.
thank you loves x

Love them! Good luck with your new little bundle of joy Thanks

I don't like the name Betty. That's not a mean comment though. That's just a difference of opinion. Will she be Elizabeth. I love the similar sounding Betsy though.
I think Poppy and Betty go well together. Both short sweet and five letters long.

Skirmisher · 19/02/2019 22:33

They sound like a singing and dancing duo who'd flash a bit of thigh and entertain the troops in WWII. Nothing wrong with that!

Skirmisher · 19/02/2019 22:34

And I mean, they're not really very different in style. Five letter names, with a double consonant and ending in a y.

Skirmisher · 19/02/2019 22:37

And I've just noticed that you're in labour right now! Very best of luck! Flowers

PippilottaLongstocking · 19/02/2019 22:37

Lovely! Similar enough to ‘match’ and yet totally different at the same time!

feelingsinister · 19/02/2019 22:44

I think Poppy and Betty sounds lovely. Or Betsy to confuse things further!

MissBattleaxe · 19/02/2019 22:45

Gorgeous names! I love the name Betty

Bumblebeesmum · 20/02/2019 03:41

How are you doing? I prefer Betty to the other options and it goes nicely with Poppy. Hope she’s here safely soon!

BettyUnderswoob · 20/02/2019 11:30

Betty is fab! Such a friendly name. As is Poppy. Grin

AuntMarch · 20/02/2019 19:04

Is Betty here? I like it, I couldn't use it though as I know two Betty's, and their both dogs. Spoils it for me lol

AuntMarch · 20/02/2019 19:05

They're Blush

HappyDinosaur · 20/02/2019 20:16

I adore the name Betty, it was in my final three. I got myself very worried about the brand called Sweaty Betty, which is ridiculous as there are so many worse associations you could have. If you love it, go for it.

EdWinchester · 20/02/2019 20:21

Dolls? Hmm

It's ok if you don't mind them both being 'ee' names.

BlueMerchant · 20/02/2019 20:21

They sound good. Both lovely names. ( I'm a Betsy fan though!) Good luck

Mumshappy · 20/02/2019 20:22

I too love Betsy

Antonin · 20/02/2019 20:36

I take it OP that you don’t live in an area where the glottal stop is common? Said without the TTs the name sounds awful.
Not a favourite of mine but then my aunt, recently deceased at nearly 100 was called that. It’s becoming more popular recently so I suppose a lot of people do like it.
Best wishes to you and your little girls whatever you call DD2

drspouse · 20/02/2019 20:37

I too prefer Betsy, and I also know someone who has a Betty that's a pet.

aliceandkids77 · 20/02/2019 21:33
