Baby girl is here... she needs a name! Edie? Thea?

Last night I started a thread about needing a name for my baby as I was 36 weeks pregnant. In the space of 24 hours, I've had my baby! She decided to arrive at 36+4, at 14:32 after just 4 hours of labour!

The names I had thought of for her just aren't suited to her at all.

Her middle names are Frances Bluebell. Both names are incredibly important to me. My mum is Frances and her dad was Frank (just Frank, not Francis). I have started loving Thea for her and then my mum suggested Edie, which I love also, and Edwina was my mum's mum so would honour her. So now I think it's between these two...

Thea Frances Bluebell
Edie Frances Bluebell

Congratulations 💐 Another vote for Edie - lovely name

3in4years · 09/02/2019 23:42

Congratulations! Edie.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 09/02/2019 23:45

Congratulations. She's a beauty.
Shes got the name Edie written all over her.
How's she doing with being a bit early.

ketchupormayo · 09/02/2019 23:54

Aw how lovely congratulations! Edie is my fave out of those 2. Lovely name

LegalEaglesNeeded · 10/02/2019 00:04

Definitely Edie. Congratulations!

Longhairmightcare · 10/02/2019 00:09

Edie is lovely imo
Congratulations :)

I like both names. I'd go for Thea though, only as we know an Edie (short for Edith in her case) and she gets called Evie a lot. In fact my husband didn't believe me that her name was actually Edie rather than Evie, until I told him I'd seen a family tree on their wall and it was Edith written on there.

Fiddie · 10/02/2019 00:13

I think Edie sounds like someone with a cold is saying Evie.

Would Thea be Tea Ah or Th ee ah

Tavannach · 10/02/2019 00:16

Edie.
She's lovely. Congratulations! Flowers

IVflytrap · 10/02/2019 00:50

Congratulations! Lovely names. I think Edie flows better with Frances than Thea does, so I would go with that. Even though Thea is also lovely.

MamaCrazy · 10/02/2019 05:05

Thank you. Her name is definitely Edie

What a sweet little baby!

MerryMarigold · 10/02/2019 05:25

Congrats. I was coming on here to say Edie too. It's lovely that it had a family connection too. I think it's really important to give kids roots in their families.

Peachbubble · 10/02/2019 06:59

Congratulations! She's definitely an Edie!

stellarfox · 10/02/2019 07:08

Congratulations! Love Edie (and Thea was a nice option too!) I’d probably go with Edith on the birth certificate

thegreylady · 10/02/2019 08:01

Divgirl2 · 10/02/2019 08:04

VoyageInTheDark · 10/02/2019 09:04

Congrats! Edie is a lovely name 😊

Icklepup · 10/02/2019 10:08

Aww, Edie Frances Bluebell.. lovely!

Bumblebeesmum · 10/02/2019 10:49

I love Thea! But the family significance of Edie pushes it to an equal place for me.
Have you considered Winnie for Edwina? I think that’s cute but I tend to be out of sync with everyone on here so who knows !
Anyway congratulations !

Bumblebeesmum · 10/02/2019 10:51

Eden is also cute & could easily be from Edwina

Bumblebeesmum · 10/02/2019 11:01

If you did want a birth certificate name then Eluned Edith Elowen Enid Elodie Meredith but although I’m someone who’d always have a ‘proper’ name on a birth certificate I think this generation that may even be the minority & I can’t see it being a problem to just use Edie.

DuggeeHugs · 10/02/2019 12:54

Edie, definitely. Congratulations!

Teddie1 · 10/02/2019 13:05

Congratulations OP! Thanks What a lovely surprise - hope you are doing well

100% Edie - could be short for Edith, which I know one of. It's pretty, unusual but still quite classic. Think it works with your middle names too Smile
