DH is Iranian and is keen to have a name that links to this and this is one that I do like. Worried about how uncommon it is and potential Sahara desert jokes? Opinions?

I knew a sahar (girl) no jokes at all. It was a beautiful name for a beautiful girl...

I like it!

I work with a Sahar, never once made the connection, lovely name!

Hi,
I have a friend named this, and she does not like the English pronounciation as we tend to silent the end “r” so it is pronounced sa-ha, and it annoys her so keep that in mind. I’m not too keen to be honest.

I like it. Hadn't seen it before and guessed it to be a girl's name.

I speak Farsi and Arabic (badly these days) and love this name. A beautiful name without being cutesy. Great for an adult too.

beautiful name without being cutesy.

^^ This.

Beautiful, grown up name.

runoutofnamechanges · 09/02/2019 15:48

It's beautiful.

Not easy to pronounce the h and final r correctly though for non-farsi/arabic speakers though.
