I like Harris, but apparently, it’s become very commonly used in Scotland, if that bothers you. It’s popular for a reason though Smile!

These are some of my favourite boy names ever! I love Scottish names.

Hamish
Fergus
Rory
Innes
Struan

PS: ds has one of these names^^.

Oh forgot Magnus and Angus which I also love!

I don’t like it, but a lot of people seem to like Alistair too.

Aprilshowersarecomingsoon · 06/02/2019 11:22

Absolutely love Harris. I’m in Scotland (west) and work with kids and have 2 in a caseload of over 300 so really not overused.

DameSquashalot · 06/02/2019 17:13

Hamish would be my top choice. Also love Rory.

figelnarage · 06/02/2019 18:18

Thanks for all the name suggestions. I think my fav is still Harris. We live in England now so not too worried about popularity in Scotland.

Harris quite popular here in Central Scotland. I hate Hamish...so Morningside along with Jamie and Angus.

I do like Lachlan though

Magnus
Alexander
Tristan

Nothing to add, just love the description of Hamish as 'so Morningside' - very true!

Sarahandduck18 · 06/02/2019 22:23

Every second boy is called Harris these days

figelnarage · 07/02/2019 05:52

Do you have any suggestions sarahandduck?

Also stuck in England. DS has a VERY Scottish name (one that is often Anglicised). I love it and it hasn't really caused any issues so far as people just ask if they don't know how to pronounce it. When we were discussing names for DC2 (who ended up being a girl) I put in an early suggestion of Greig (which wouldn't have gone with our surname unfortunately) or Gregor (we're a rugby house). Anyway enough about me:
Hamish
Angus
Greig
Gregor
Ross
Malcolm
Roderick (Roddy)

Although, I was actually born in Morningside so....

figelnarage · 07/02/2019 06:07

I love the name Gregor but already have a nephew with this name. I also like Logan, but again this is the name of a close family member.

Love Murray, came to suggest that lol

Harris is lovely , I'd go with that if it's not too common in England. Im pregnant with a boy and love Harris but I just think it's too popular up here along with Harry and Harrison.

Also love Hamish and Lachlan
