I’m due a girl in 2 weeks who will probably be my last, but just in case...

Corin for a boy: yea or nay? Any immediate associations?

I like it

anatol · 02/02/2019 22:54

The only Corin I know is a girl so I would see it as a girl's name. I don't know the background to the name though so maybe it's not.

Butterfly84 · 02/02/2019 23:27

I wouldn't use it for a boy. I've only known girl Korens/Corins.

HoneysuckIejasmine · 02/02/2019 23:28

I only know boy Corins. I know a Corina and a Corrine, who are both girls.

Redshoeblueshoe · 02/02/2019 23:34

The only Corin I've heard of is Corin Redgrave, Vanessa's brother.
I like it

GlitterPixie · 02/02/2019 23:36

I thought of Prince Corin from the Horse and his Boy straight away

WatcherintheRye · 02/02/2019 23:39

There was a Corin in the famous Redgrave acting dynasty - Vanessa and Lynn Redgrave's brother. I've only come across Corinne as the female version.

Oops! X post Smile

Lovely name. Love Corin for a boy or Corinne for a girl.

Sessy19 · 03/02/2019 03:02

I knew a man called Coran....but the Corin I know is a lovely lady.

Scandaloso · 03/02/2019 03:34

Corin Redgrave was my first thought. Nice name.

IWouldBeSuperb · 03/02/2019 03:43

I like it, but, "No, not Colin..." might get a bit tiresome...

Scandaloso · 03/02/2019 03:48

Oh, I never thought of people mishearing it as Colin.

I withdraw my approval in that case.

calpop · 03/02/2019 07:38

I know a boy Corin, really like it. No-one hears it as Colin

tammytoby · 03/02/2019 07:40

I like Corin. Sounds strong and interesting. Nothing like Colin.

The feminine versions are Corinna and Corinne.

I like it.

CountessVonBoobs · 03/02/2019 07:45

I would immediately mentally append "Thunderfist", so as long as you're cool with that really.

Mokepon · 03/02/2019 07:47

Really good name.
I see a mum at swim lessons with a boy Corin and never made the Colin connection but we are in Scotland so maybe the R is quite strong!

DartmoorDoughnut · 03/02/2019 07:53

I like it. However I may be biased as I’ve just read a series of books where Corin is the King of the Fae lands and insanely hot so you may want to ignore me 😂

ChoccyBiccyTastic · 03/02/2019 08:03

Love it. Think of Narnia.
Corinne is the female form.

RuthW · 03/02/2019 08:56

I know female Corins but male Corran.

tammytoby · 03/02/2019 09:20

The female version is Corinne and has the emphasis on the second syllable.

Corin is a great boys name!

Triffictriffid · 03/02/2019 12:41

I really like it. Unusual, different but not OTT or weird or overly trendy.

daisypond · 03/02/2019 12:51

Corin is great. It's a boy's name. Never heard of a female one. Corinne for a girl.
