Baby boy name from Athanasios

We love the name Athanasios (greek means immortal) but we want a short for it... the usual in Greece is Thanos or Nasos.

Any imaginative short versions? It's great to hear from non-Greek people how they could imagine this name to be shorten?

I know a small boy called Athan, it's pronounced like Nathan but with out the N.

Athan is lovely. A bit like Ethan.

Zio is Italian for uncle, I wouldn't use that. I actually think the Greek nicknames are lovely.

I know of an Athan too (pronounced with an a like apple not acorn)

I wouldn't use Thanos. You'll look like a Marvel super fan.
