Hey,

Expecting first baby in a few months and we do not know the sex.

DP and I can only agree on girls names and have our top 3 sorted.

As for boys names we have a few that we like but don't love.

Please say your favourite girls and boys names from our list (feel free to suggest boys names)

Willow
Poppy
Isla

Theo
Jacob
Hugo
Loui
Hudson
Harvey
Austin
Beau (surname begins with a B though)

Willow and Hugo are my favourites also really like Isla and Theo but they are very popular atm

Lycanthropology · 31/01/2019 00:45

Isla I like

And Louis (spelt and pronounced correctly)

And possibly Theo.

Willow is quite nice. Poppy is cute, but doesn't really work in other countries. Often it means 'grandad' or 'daddy' in some European countries, and even some areas of the US, and probably has other weird meanings. It's very little-girly anyway. Isla is OK, a bit dull, and so overused at the moment there'd probably be a few in the class.

Jacob and Louis (spelled like that) are fantastic names, I really like them, also quite like Theo.

Hudson is awful (big cold river near New York), also boys' names ending in 'son' are stupid, it's obviously a surname meaning 'Hud's son'. Beau is more awful, sounds like some cheesy character in 'Gone with the Wind', also means 'handsome', a lot for the poor kid to live up to.

Poppy

Hugo

Poppy and Hugo.

After these, Willow, and Theo and Louis (this spelling).

umpteennamechanges · 31/01/2019 04:36

Willow - what if she's not 'willowy'? Bit insipid for me
Poppy - a Labrador
Isla - love

Theo - overdone
Jacob - like
Hugo - love
Loui - surely it's Louis? Not keen
Hudson - a river
Harvey - hate, makes me think of Katie Price
Austin - quite American
Beau (surname begins with a B though) - hate, will date terribly

moredoll · 31/01/2019 06:02

Willow - like it
Poppy - like it
Isla - like it

Theo - meh
Jacob - like it
Hugo - have always disliked it
Loui - like it (spelt Louis)
Hudson - don't like it
Harvey - not for a human
Austin - don't like it
Beau - sort of like it. 'B' worked for Beau Brummell.

MamaDane · 31/01/2019 06:05

Willow and Jacob.
Isla is nice too though.

Not keen on the rest.

17caterpillars1mouse · 31/01/2019 17:07

Willow - my favourite of your girls names
Poppy - too cutesy. I dont thinj it ages well
Isla - they are literally everywhere here

Theo - ok, prefer Theodore
Jacob - lovely, my favourite on your list
Hugo - its nice enough
Loui- no
Hudson - no
Harvey- ok, a bit cutesy on an adult
Austin - meh
Beau - cute on the under 10s, doesnt age well though. I struggle to imagine a 50 year old ageing man called Beau being taken seriously

I will suggest Joshua and Zachary
