I like names that have an unusual ring to it- they're unique... I know about 9 Ana's lol!

Which girl and boy names have you heard that have made you say "wow" that's beautiful and unique?

I think Seren, Loinnir and Tabitha are truly beautiful girls' names. I also love Candida and Gaye but unfortunately i think they are unusable now. For boys I think Alexander and Alastair are two of the loveliest names. I don't really do unique though.

BellMcEnd · 21/01/2019 19:42

Melaena - looks and sounds so pretty

howtobehuman · 21/01/2019 19:54

PatPhoenix how do you pronounce Loinnir

BikeRunSki · 21/01/2019 19:56

There was a girl in the year above me at primary school called Jacinth. I always thought that was a very exotic name.

SemperIdem · 21/01/2019 21:27

Xanthe. It was the middle name of a girl I went to school with.

Granted she hated it and was very embarrassed if it ever came up but I always thought it was lovely.

PatPhoenix · 21/01/2019 21:34

I'd pronounce it Lwon-ear but I'm very English and it's an Irish name. I didn't feel I could have it on my list as it feels too Irish-specific, but I do love it. I like Roisin as well but not quite as much. pronunciation by Irish speakers, but each one takes a while to load

@BellMcEnd Please tell me you're joking? That's the medical term for the sticky black poo you get when you have a GI bleed.

BellMcEnd · 23/01/2019 18:32

@Divgirl2 I often think that if I ever have twin girls then Malaena and Candida would be beautiful names Wink
