What where/are your Grandmothers called?

Mine were Elizabeth and Hilda. One is a great name that I'd use, the other not so much.

Janis and Pauline over here! Neither of which I'd be keen to bestow on a baby Grin.

Great grandmothers and great-greats had some much better names though - Rose, Ethel, Martha, Jessie

Grandmothers were Edna and Kate. Great grandmothers were Naomi Ruth, Marnie Alice, Isabella Hunter and Agnes.

Virginia and Janet, Virginia is still alive. Virginia would probably be OK as a middle name. Her middle name was Gay, probably not the best choice these days (she was born 1936). Not so sure about Janet, and probably wouldn’t use it as a name. They’re both somewhat old-fashioned, but Virginia sounds nicer.
