I like Lily. It's a lot more classic and timeless than Lyla.

Shadow1234 · 15/01/2019 14:32

I prefer Lyla

MikeUniformMike · 15/01/2019 14:46

I don't like Lyla. I don't think it looks or sounds pretty. Lily is pretty but I don't like Lil.

WhatASmashingBlouse · 15/01/2019 15:24

Lily is much nicer and more classic. I do like Lyla as well but it's not unusual. It's in the top 100 now. I prefer the spelling Lilah.

I think you can't go wrong with Lily.

It's timeless and it suits all ages.

Hazlenutpie · 15/01/2019 15:55

100% Lily

ReginaPhalange89 · 15/01/2019 17:50

I know two Lylas born in the last few months so it might be rising in popularity .
Lily is lovely , common yes, but maybe not used so much now as it was maybe 7/8 years ago (my niece is a Lily and there were loads around that time )

Gumball54 · 15/01/2019 18:52

Lily

Ifionlyknewthenwhatiknownow3 · 15/01/2019 19:04

Have you considered Lelia? ( Leeleeya), beautiful old classic underused name. Not keen on lily, reminds me of sanitary towels and I think Lyla is a bit contrived.

confusedandemployed · 15/01/2019 19:06

My grandmother was Lila (actually Lillian but she was always called Lila, pronounced Lill-ah). I've met one little girl Lila with your pronunciation, and I definitely prefer it to Lily.

Lyla is massively popular where I am this year. Much more popular than Lily.
