Twin names...again

YouAreKiddingMoi · 14/01/2019 15:35

I've posted about this before, but pregnancy hormones and the passage of time have me back here again.....

I'm having twin girls and I've a section booked fr the 2nd week of Feb.

I had toyed with using version of family names as first names but I've totally gone off that idea as I'd like them to have their own names.

I already have Dd14 and Ds2 who have names starting K and C.

So the current shortlist is:
Ruby
Iris
Cora
Scarlett
Isabel
Stella
Hannah
Roslyn

I think Ruby is a front runner, the others all have some sort of issue..... its sooo hard

Thoughts or alternatives anyone?

Thank you!!

Ruby and Iris go well together.
I really like Scarlet and Roslyn aswell

Suresurelah · 15/01/2019 07:01

Ruby and Iris

But by far the best names from your list are Stella and Iris!

How about considering

Lila?
Rose?
Beatrix or Beatrice?
Cleo?
Eden?

Agree with everyone saying don’t give them matching names. I have twins and their names don’t match. They are two seperate people.

From your list my favourites are

Cora (beautiful name)
Roslyn
Isabel

I’m afraid I don’t like Ruby. It’s really common these days. Ditto Scarlett and Iris is also getting very popular.

Lipsticktraces · 15/01/2019 07:24

Congratulations btw. Having twins is amazing😊

Lipsticktraces · 15/01/2019 07:27

Clara (by girl twins name, so I’m probably biasedWink)
Marianne
Rosa
Josephine
Pearl

2isabella2 · 15/01/2019 07:29

Hannah and Isabel are my favourites by a long way on your list.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 15/01/2019 10:29

Ruby and Stella, lovely !

Ipanema01 · 15/01/2019 10:44

I like Stella and Iris. How exciting!

TeepleTops · 15/01/2019 13:33

I like Cara more than Cora.

Cara & Ruby.

itsalloverforanotheryear · 15/01/2019 13:42

I wouldn't have ruby and Scarlett only because they are both shades of red!

YouAreKiddingMoi · 15/01/2019 14:50

The Ruby and Scarlett thing is polarising (as I expected!) Dh loves it and I cant bear the matchiness of it 😣

Stella is my favourite but I'm not sure I can get past the association with the beer, a bit like the recent thread about Flora and the margarine, hmm

Thanks for all your input, going to show DH this thread tonight and see of it helps us any!

Estelle instead of Stella?

comebacksoonsusan · 15/01/2019 14:58

Ruby and Cora

MummaGiles · 15/01/2019 19:43

Ruby & Cora

CarolinenotCarolyn · 16/01/2019 04:11

I was going to say Ruby and Scarlet, but then I just saw OP’s recent post, so I’d say Ruby and Iris!

TeepleTops · 16/01/2019 09:50

Ruby and Scarlet are ridiculous. Is your DH just saying that as a joke?

mishgs · 16/01/2019 10:01

Ruby and Cora Smile

TatianaLarina · 16/01/2019 12:05

Ruby is a stripper name.

Iris and Stella are the best to me. Two writers, and a 20s ring to them.

Don’t like any of the others.

Astronica · 16/01/2019 13:19

While I like both Ruby and Scarlett separately there's no way you can use them for twins - as pps have said, both 'red'. My favourite pairs from your list are:

Isabel and Hannah
Scarlett and Hannah
Isabel and Scarlett

YouAreKiddingMoi · 05/02/2019 15:18

I'm resurrecting this for last opinions......

Ruby and Iris

Or

Ruby and Hope

Thank you!

Ruby and Scarlett

LongDivision · 05/02/2019 16:12

Ruby & Petra
Joy & Ruby

2isabella2 · 05/02/2019 16:35

Of your two last options, Ruby and Iris. However I have two great aunts with those names so associate them with elderly relatives.

GRW · 05/02/2019 16:37

Ruby and Iris
Or Ruby and Charlotte if you can't use Scarlett.

hatethinkingofusernames · 05/02/2019 16:45

Ruby and Cora/Iris. I really really dislike the name Hannah, no idea why just one of those names that grates on me
