With Charles as a middle name.
DH is half Spanish and we fell in love with the name, but is Emilio too similar to Amelia/Emilia? Will people get it mixed up with those names because Amelia is so popular? Is it too feminine?

We like Emiliano too but not as much.

I really like it, it's cool. Reminds me of the Emilio in the film 'Dangerous minds', but that's a very old film. I think it's obvious it's a boys name due to the 'o' ending.

I think if lovely if your DH has Spanish background. I dont think it will get confused with Amelia/Emilia does and definitely don't think it's feminine.

Personally I prefer Emilio to Emiliano.

I like it a lot but it’s quite a mouthful to say with an English accent. Would you be shortening it?

Pollysuesie · 10/01/2019 18:45

Does he look Spanish? A white looking child named Emilio might look a bit daft IMO

@Pollysuesie My friend has a son who is 1/4 Kuwaiti and is very fair with light blonde hair and a full traditional Arabic name. Suits him just fine because you just get used to it.

Emilio is lovely OP! Certainly not a mouth full..

Emilio is a great name, and I dont think it would get confused with amelia/Emilia. If you love it, go for it!

Emilio Estevez isn't really the most Spanish-looking of the Sheen family.
I don't think it sounds too like the Emily/Amelia names. I don't think it's the nicest Spanish name I've ever heard (if I had any justification for giving my child a Spanish name, he'd be Santiago Grin) but there's nothing wrong with it.
