Does anyone know definitively how to pronounce this? I have a feeling there is no consensus. Roz or Rose? Line, Leen, or Lynn?

I think DiCaprio says, 'Roz-a-line' in R&J.

What would you say?

In English probably Ros a lyne

In German Ros a leen eh

In French Ros a leen

WolfHallster · 08/01/2019 17:33

Rozza-line.

Shadow1234 · 08/01/2019 18:35

I would have pronounced it rosa-leen, but i will probably be in the minority here.

Sophronia · 09/01/2019 11:14

I would say Roz-ah-leen

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 09/01/2019 12:34

It is my dear Irish friend's name, pronounced Rosa-leen, nn Rosy.

MikeUniformMike · 09/01/2019 12:56

Rozza line. But people will say it Rosa-line, Rossalyn, Rose-aleen...
I prefer Rosalind.

ShadyLady53 · 10/01/2019 23:45

In England it’s Roz-a-lyne (rhymes with eye).

I much prefer the Irish Rose-uh-leen

Harebellmeadow · 11/01/2019 16:32

Love it. Would pronounce it Rosylin, with a very faint vowel between the Ross and the Lin.
Also love Rosamund, but without the e at the end, as where i live the e would be clearly pronounced as a separate syllable.

tammytoby · 11/01/2019 17:48

Roslyn would be pronounced Ros-lyn

Rosaline would be Rosa-lyne

DramaAlpaca · 11/01/2019 22:20

Rosa-line, with the -line part as in Caroline.

If you want it pronounced Rosa-leen, spell it Rosaleen.

TatianaLarina · 11/01/2019 23:02

Prefer Rosalie - by reason of the pronunciation issues (also don’t like the eyes pronunciation.)
