Emmy/Emily/Emerline

We've really struggled to name our DD2 who is now due in a matter of days.

We both like Emmy , but looking for views on whether we go with Emily (put off slightly by its popularity), Emmeline (open to mispronunciation) or just Emmy (is that a name?)

Her sister is Orla.

What about Emilia or Emiliana?

(otherwise I'd go for Emily and I'd spell Emerline as Emmeline)

AhoyDelBoy · 07/01/2019 09:44

I’d go with Emmeline. Don’t like Emily but love Emmeline and Emmy is the perfect nn.

Icklepup · 07/01/2019 09:50

Emmeline nn Emme

YouSetTheTone · 07/01/2019 10:27

I vote for Emmeline too! I think it’s gorgeous. It was on my shortlist of girls names. Emmy is a nice nn.

Peachbubble · 07/01/2019 12:53

Emmeline, but I do like Emily too

Til89 · 07/01/2019 12:54

What about Emma? That’s not as popular as it used to be! I’m a big fan of Emilia. Emmy is nice on it’s own. Or what about Esme?

HotInWinter · 07/01/2019 13:00

Emilia?? Tho it may get confused with Amelia.
I know an Emmy. I think any of the longer versions are preferable as a birth cert name, with Emmy as a nick name.

PartridgeJoan · 07/01/2019 13:05

I think Emmy would be a lovely name!

NannyR · 07/01/2019 13:08

Emmeline is gorgeous and pretty straightforward to pronounce I would think? Emerline looks a bit made up to me, like you didn't know how to spell emmeline.

Astronica · 07/01/2019 13:10

I'd put Emily, Emma, Esme or Emilia on the bc and call her Emmy. I'm not such a fan of Emmeline (please spell it this way), but I'd prefer Emmeline over just Emmy.

Rickytickytembo · 07/01/2019 13:12

We have an Emilia, nickname Emmie. Love, love, love it 😍

Laurasimone · 07/01/2019 14:29

Emma nn Emmmy

Laurasimone · 07/01/2019 14:30

Without the extra m obv!

Sranso · 07/01/2019 14:48

Emilia is too close to the ubiquitous Emilia for us.

I'd go with Emily or Emmeline

Sranso · 07/01/2019 14:49

Amelia ofc. It's even closer to Emilia Grin
