Molly and Abigail are my two faves

Nursiemum27 · 06/01/2019 18:39

Never heard of Olwyn so that automatically gets a 👍 and like Molly

Rarfy · 06/01/2019 18:40

I love Norah but know what people would say and it would annoy me.

LoopyLoonyLuna · 06/01/2019 18:43

Personally I like Abigail best, then Molly. Olwyn and Norah are quite ugly names imo. Sabine I also don’t like.

Bloomini · 06/01/2019 18:44

Sabine or Abigail. Congratulations!

MikeUniformMike · 06/01/2019 18:47

Sabine - lovely. Sab-EEn or Zabeenuh pronunciation?
Molly - fine
Abigail - fine
Norah - dislike.
Olwyn - Absolutely NOT. Olwen is fine but Olwyn is bluddy awful.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 06/01/2019 18:47

Sabine 💕
I also like Abigail and Molly.

Frosty66611 · 06/01/2019 18:48

I only like Abigail from the list. Very pretty name

snowone · 06/01/2019 18:56

Norah is on my list although I think we have eventually settled on something else!! Grin

zebra · 06/01/2019 18:58

I have an Abigail who's always been know as Abby.
Sabine, pretty name
Molly, too common
Norah, sorry Norah Batty
Olwyn, prefer it spelt Olwen

FlagFish · 06/01/2019 18:58

Molly or Abigail

Doilooklikeatourist · 06/01/2019 19:05

I would spell Olwen rather than Olwyn ( I believe wyn is the male name ending in Wales )
So
Olwen ✅
Abigail ✅
Sabine , not keen , I like Sabrina though
Molly , too many around
Norah , not keen

weegiehere · 06/01/2019 19:08

I like Abigail or Molly best from your list.

Alienspaceship · 06/01/2019 19:09

Sabine is lovely.

daisypond · 06/01/2019 19:34

Sabine - like, but the story of the rape of the Sabine women might put me off.
Molly - OK-ish, (a bit too cutesy) but better if just used as a nickname for Mary.
Abigail - yes, OK, but it has a bit of a servant vibe to me, which I'm not wild about. But it's a nice nam.e
Norah - not keen. If short for something like Leonora I'd like it more.
Olwyn - Olwen is the spelling. I like it.

MikeUniformMike · 06/01/2019 19:39

Olwyn is the welsh word for Wheel. Olwen is a name from the Mabinogi.
-wyn names are boys names, -wen names are girls names.
Olwyn isn't a boy's name.

DramaAlpaca · 06/01/2019 19:40

I like Sabine very much & Abigail is nice enough.
Molly is too cutesy for me.
I really dislike Norah.
Olwyn - just no. It should be Olwen as pps said, but I'm not keen

Toffeeandyawns · 06/01/2019 19:40

I absolutely love Norah.
Olwyn is the name of an elderly headteacher I knew.
Sabine is also v pretty.

newdaylight · 06/01/2019 20:13

Thanks for your thoughts everyone. Just come across the Sabine back story. Very off putting!!

Olwyn is my grandmother's name. I'm sure it was wyn rather then wen but I best check as we're thinking of im using as a middle name if not first. We quite like Olly.

I really like them all.

I think Norah and Olwyn are my favs though also really like Sabine (never met one) and Abigail. Molly is lovely too but a bit more popular and cutesy. Middle name maybe?

greendale17 · 06/01/2019 20:38

Abigail

Don’t like Olwyn whatsoever

Peachbubble · 06/01/2019 20:52

Norah. Prefer Sabrina to Sabine.

Astronica · 07/01/2019 04:34

Abigail and Olwen are my favourites (not sure about Olwyn spelling). Molly is nice. Not a fan of the others.

WhirlieGigg · 07/01/2019 04:54

I like Abigail and Olwyn. I think people will pronounce Sabine wrong and it will lead to confusion.

RedDwarves · 07/01/2019 09:04

Love Sabine and Abigail.

Not a fan of Olwyn. I think it should be Olwen for a girl, too?
