Isla or Amelie

Milasmummy · 05/01/2019 13:23

Thanks to everyone who posted on my previous thread about my sister who wants to name her daughter Amelie.

She is trying to find other names, and has taken a liking towards Isla and wants to know the general opinion of which people prefer most: Amelie or Isla.

Thank you

Definitely Amelie.

Pemba · 05/01/2019 13:32

Not another Isla! Amelie is pretty.

CloserIAm2Fine · 05/01/2019 13:39

Isla

ElfinMama · 05/01/2019 13:55

I love Amelie. There are so many Islas at the moment.

Santababyclaus · 05/01/2019 14:00

Amelie purely because there's so many Islas where I live

TidyDancer · 05/01/2019 16:37

There are a tonne of both of these where I live, both are nice names but very common now (not that that's necessarily a bad thing but you may want to consider it).

daisypond · 05/01/2019 16:40

Isla.

Shadow1234 · 05/01/2019 23:52

Amelie by far

villainousbroodmare · 05/01/2019 23:55

Three girls in my preschooler's class... all three are called Isla!

Astronica · 06/01/2019 00:01

I prefer Amelie.

Is she open to suggestions? Names I like more with similar sounds/feel:
Autumn
Eleanor
Imogen
Indigo
Briony
Amity
Lilah
Dimity
Eliza
Anthea

Isla

WrapAndRoll · 06/01/2019 08:05

Amelie

lanbro · 06/01/2019 08:11

Both lovely names but in my opinion overused, unimaginative and a little bit boring...Both my dds have unusual, but not daft, names that don't even show on the listings for the years they were born and I love that they stand out

peachypetite · 06/01/2019 22:33

Ianbro what are they?

SuzieAndBess · 06/01/2019 22:38

My DD is the same as Ianbro but I really don’t see why a name being popular should put people off. DN has a popular name, let’s say Ella but she is our Ella and totally unique!

DramaAlpaca · 06/01/2019 22:40

Isla

LemonBeachTowels · 08/01/2019 10:58

Isla is so common these days!

Marcipex · 08/01/2019 11:25

They're both pretty names, very popular for a reason.
People with first babies, who aren't going to baby and toddler groups, often don't know what the 'in' names are.
I think I prefer Isla out of the two, it's lovely.

Betty36 · 08/01/2019 11:40

Amelie is nicer

Pearlgrey1 · 08/01/2019 11:48

Amelie
Isla is very common these days x
