Flora with our surname?

I've name changed for this because I'm mentioning my surname and don't want to out myself.
We are not pregnant yet but thinking about trying for our second soon.

We love the name Flora but our surname is Forde. Does that sound ridiculous? I don't have a problem with alliteration but worried this doesn't sound good.
Considering Florence Forde instead, but I do prefer Flora. Does Florence Forde sound ok?
I like the idea of Flora Bella Forde and her being my little Florabel (I realise this is cutesy and would just be a nice pet name for her when she's small)
Thoughts please!
Our other favourites are:
Alana
Willow
Ciara

Bellatrix - part of the reason I want Bella as first middle name is so I can use Florabel or Florabella when she's little. It is very twee but I kind of like twee Grin
I feel like I get to indulge my preference for a super girly name but still give her a sensible grown up name as well.
Thanks for your message though, glad to see lots of people like it.

OP you could call her Florabel as a pet name without it being her middle name. My friend calls my daughter Yulabelle.
But it’s your little girl and you have to name her a name you love 💕

Flora and Florence are both fine with your surname.

Florabel could come from...

Florence Isobel
Florence Annabelle
Florence Arabella
Florentina Christobel
Floriana Mirabelle
Flora Mabel
Flora Maribel
Flora Claribel

My comment is that when Flora and Forde are run together it sounds like Floor Afford . This natural elision isn’t present with Florence

Choosinganame · 07/01/2019 09:05

I love some of those suggestions.
Florence Arabella is gorgeous
I like Floriana actually but think it might be a bit posh for us.

You could call her that regardless of her middle name though. Names are often added to for tweeness (I know a Susiepops, no pops in her name, and Jamiekins, no kins!)

Florianne?

Flora is beautiful.

A close friend of mine has a middle name of Flora and all I think of when I hear it is the outdoors and country rural idyll.

We have a Flora and she gets all kinds of florable adorable, flossy, floraloralooo etc. Good name!

KiteMarked · 07/01/2019 22:17

I love alliterative names. :)

Goldrill - how old is your Flora? Do you get mostly good comments on it? Gorgeous name.

DDs friend is called Flora. She's a 28-yo goth with piercings and either jet black or multi-coloured hair. She is witty and clever and has a responsible job. She's never had anyone take the mickey out of her name.

Flora-Belle?

Josiebloggs · 08/01/2019 23:28

Was just going to suggest Flora Belle but got beaten to it. It sounds lovely with your surname.
