Just that really, Mathilde being pronounced ma-tild.
Neither of us are French Blush but I guess we like French names.

Margot!

SherlocksDeerstalker · 02/01/2019 18:00

Margot is amazing. My SIL has a best friend called Margot and she is fantastically unusual.

This may not matter to you, but in France Mathilde is not pronounced 'Ma-tild'. You can hear native French pronunciation here: forvo.com/word/mathilde/

It's either Mat-eeldd (France) or (Canadian French) Ma-til-de

Scandinavian pronunciation is Mat-il-duh or Mat-eel-duh [https://forvo.com/word/mathilde/#da]]

Sorry -link should be forvo.com/word/mathilde/#da

Margot. I have a name similar to Mathilde, and nobody can pronounce it. People say the equivalent of Math ilda or Math-eye-ld. I really like my name despite that, though, so I suppose it doesn't matter. She'd probably end up Matilda.

Margot is beautiful!

tammytoby · 02/01/2019 20:13

I don't like Margot especially if pronounced Mar-got.

Mathilde or Mathilda are both beautiful!

Astronica · 02/01/2019 22:32

I prefer Mathilde.

WrapAndRoll · 02/01/2019 22:40

Of the two I prefer Mathilde.

I have a Matilda and if we had had another girl she'd have been Margot.

DramaAlpaca · 02/01/2019 23:12

I think Margot is horrible, so Mathilde.

Sophronia · 02/01/2019 23:19

Margot

Shadow1234 · 02/01/2019 23:34

Not keen on Margot, but like Mathilde.

SpaceDinosaur · 02/01/2019 23:37

I adore Margot

FreckledLeopard · 02/01/2019 23:45

Love them both - beautiful names!

AnotherRoadsideAttraction · 02/01/2019 23:52

Margot
Margot
Margot
(Love this name!!)

AnotherRoadsideAttraction · 02/01/2019 23:54

What about 'Margot Mathilde' as first and middle names? Good illiteration!

Hernam3waslola · 03/01/2019 00:07

AnotherRoadsideAttraction think that would be a bit of a mouthful with surname of Mellor Grin

OP posts:
AnotherRoadsideAttraction · 03/01/2019 00:09

Eek! Yes, too much! Grin
But Margot Mellor is gorgeous! (I've always loved a bit of illiteration...)

CarolinenotCarolyn · 03/01/2019 13:28

I like Mathilde.
