Mabel or isadora

Dc 6 is due end of January, she will most likely be Isadora or Mabel, I think I prefer Isadora but can't stand the nn Izzy!

I like Mabel, dh and kids love it, but not sure if it's a bit plain. My other girls are Tabitha and Posy, which goes better with their names? ( I won't say the boys names as well as it's too outing but they are classic names, older two are in top ten and youngest is a very old but not made up name)

Am also still open to suggestions! Smile

Mabel!!!!!

ChaosMoon · 24/12/2018 09:58

I much prefer Mabel, but it's your kid so name her the one you love.

If you initiate Dora as a NN, people will use that. Tbh, there are so many Isabels/Isabellas at the moment, people will probably be relieved to have a NN other than Bella or Izzy to choose from!

Nightmanagerfan · 24/12/2018 09:59

I love Isadora

ChaosMoon · 24/12/2018 09:59

(oh and I think both "go" with your other kid's names)

llittlebee · 24/12/2018 09:59

Mabel. Isadora reminds me of Wizadora and it would probably get shortened to Izzy which you don't like!
I think Mabel is lovely and vintagy.

Cbeebiesrehab · 24/12/2018 10:07

Mabel is gorgeous. My boy would have been Mabel if he was a girl. I love it!

Peachbubble · 24/12/2018 10:08

I like Mabel the best, and I think it goes better with Tabitha and Posy.

EyeDrops · 24/12/2018 10:19

Mabel!! What a lovely name!

user1486250399 · 24/12/2018 10:21

Both gorgeous. Congratulations X

oslab · 24/12/2018 10:24

Mabel!

NannyR · 24/12/2018 10:28

I also think of wizadora, but that's because it was a popular kids tv show when I was younger, the children your isadora will grow up will never have even heard of it.
Dora or Dorrie would be good nn if you don't like izzy.

I prefer Mabel with your other girls names though.

n0ne · 24/12/2018 10:45

Love Mabel!

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 24/12/2018 10:53

If you don't like Izzy avoid Isadora as like it or not. That's probably be to her friends. Mabel is much pretty anyway.

ZebraKid71 · 24/12/2018 11:31

Dora or dory is a totally natural nickname for isadora as opposed to Issy. I love it.

Mabel is sweet but very popular in my area at the moment which would put me off.

femalepresentingnipples · 24/12/2018 11:35

Isadora will probably get Izzy unless you get an alternative nickname established early. Do you like Dora? It’s not a guarantee but you might not mind as much when she’s a teenager and it’s just her friends compared to everyone when she’s a toddler.

Mabel is lovely too and avoid the Izzy issue.

itallhappensforareason · 24/12/2018 11:46

Mabel for me.

WrapAndRoll · 24/12/2018 17:28

Isadora

WrapAndRoll · 24/12/2018 17:29

Mabel is a bit flimsy to my ears. Mirabelle?

CloserIAm2Fine · 24/12/2018 18:35

Mabel

If you hate Izzy I wouldn’t use Isadora as there’s a good chance she or her friends will decide to use it. Also there’s tons of Izzy’s!

Mabel is lovely

Didyeeaye · 24/12/2018 20:22

I love Isadora! The obvious nickname to me is Dora

Sophronia · 24/12/2018 23:47

Isadora, but I prefer the Isidora spelling.

daisypond · 25/12/2018 11:26

Isadora. I don't like Mabel at all.

MikeUniformMike · 25/12/2018 17:12

Mabel - it's pretty. I don't like Isadora and it will be Issy or Izzy.

mabelstanley · 26/12/2018 16:41

Thanks guys. Mabel seems to be the front runnerSmile

Isadora without a doubt. It’s so charming. Whilst Mabel is such an old lady name
