Dara (for a girl). I think it's nice, simple and it has a lot of great meanings. Your thoughts are very welcome!Xmas Grin

I quite like it but I think of it as being a boy's name purely because of Dara O Briain.

Pix00 · 20/12/2018 12:57

I thought that too, so I'm quite worried that it'll automatically become a boy name for most people :(

I know two male Dara’s.

What about Cara or Lara?!

Etsy · 20/12/2018 13:03

Love it even more for girls than for boys.

erykahb · 20/12/2018 13:08

Better as a girls name 100%, plus, it's basically 2019, fuck the system Grin

mortifiedmama · 20/12/2018 13:18

Definitely better as a girls name!

CrookedMe · 20/12/2018 13:19

I like!

knittedjest · 20/12/2018 13:20

Reminds me of Daria which I think is a hard name to pull off if you are not a pretty Russian girl.

Pix00 · 20/12/2018 13:59

So many positive reviews so far! Thank you!

Dara is another form of Daria and Darya, so I guess the connection is inevitable haha

I'm not a fan. Not just because the most famous Dara is male, I also just don't really like the sound of it.

Dinosaursdontgrowontrees · 20/12/2018 17:02

It’s ok. Much prefer Lara or Zara.

fiadhflower · 20/12/2018 17:15

Dara, the Irish name, is both a male and female name. The Irish name is not another form of Daria. It means Oak. And I think it’s lovely for either a boy or girl.

Shadow1234 · 20/12/2018 19:06

Really love it!

CloserIAm2Fine · 20/12/2018 19:18

I only know male Dara/Daragh so I’d find it an odd name for a girl

Justlikedevon · 20/12/2018 19:51

I know one, she's Indian.

Picknickers · 20/12/2018 23:30

I prefer Darla if I'm honest.

Kokeshi123 · 21/12/2018 00:26

It's a boy's name.
