We are due our first baby in February and are really stuck on names. We were quite set on a shortlist for a boy and have been toying around with some girls' names since we found out she was a girl. The problem is that we don't feel we love any of them.... ideally we would like a shortlist and would make the final decision when she arrives.
We have a double-barrelled surname of 5 syllables (starting with H) so would worry about her name being too much of a mouthful (she will not have a middle name for this reason). Conversely, however, I have begun to doubt whether a one syllable name is 'enough,' especially as I am prone to using nicknames/shortened names... I am also conscious of a name being too popular, although my wife is less fussed about this.
