Surname begins with M. Four other siblings called Summer, Elsie, Mason and Fraser.

Boy name: Freddie Douglas M.
Girl Name: Silvia Susan M.

Douglas is my FIL middle name. Silvia and Susan is my DH mother and her twin first names, both deceased sadly.

Likely hood is Silvia will be shortened to just Via.

I dislike that the youngest two would start with an F if you had a boy. Also find Freddie a bit nicknamey. I'd go for Alfred and shorten

Silvia seems very different to your other girls names but is nice and guess it doesn't really matter. Dislike Susan but assuming family name, would prefer Susannah or Suzanne

I would call him Frederick or Alfred and then have Freddie as a nickname. Otherwise it sounds fine Xmas Smile

I prefer Douglas as a first name nn Dougie.
Douglas Freddie or Douglas Frederick.

Silvia is nice but I do prefer Sylvie. Would still be a lovely tribute but still her own identity too.

I love Douglas as a first name, DH doesn't though sadly and unless I really hate his choices, this is his first baby and my fifth so I have told him he can pick names! He is dead set on Freddie for no particular reason!

I love Silvie too, figured it would also be a NN for Silvia though?

Love the boys name..
Not as taken with the girls name.. I agree with PP, Sylvie is cute

tammytoby · 13/12/2018 09:41

Lovely names!

But please don't shorten Sylvia. It's beautiful and so easy to say!

Via is awful.

ZebraKid71 · 13/12/2018 11:11

Love the girls name.

I normally prefer full names rather than nn on birth certificate... But in this case I think Freddie Douglas is lovely (and there is a really famous escaped slave turned abolitionist in American history called Frederick Douglass that I think would be any Americans first thought did you go frederick!)

Freddie Douglas works as a pairing and works with your other kids. I just much prefer Douglas myself, or Freddie short for something.

Not keen at all on Silvia but adore Sylvie/Silvie. I'd use Sylvie as the full name - as it is a full name and not just a nn option for Silvia. Sylvie Susannah or Sylvie Susanne would be just lovely! And a delightful way to honour 2 family members with cool and current names!
