Water names?

Any favorite water names for girls? I'm crazy over names that are somehow related to water, ocean, sea, etc.. If you've ever seen a water name that you simply love, please tell!

So far my favorites are:
Kaia
River

What do you guys think?

I like Marina

knittedjest · 11/12/2018 04:59

Sedna. Though probably not the best of mythological figures.

avocadoincident · 11/12/2018 05:01

Môr is sea in Welsh (pronounced more).

Bettieheart · 11/12/2018 06:26

I think a lot of people love Marina haha. Sedna is beautiful but a bit too out there for me, and for Môr, I think people will keep on reaffirming the name, asking "More?" It still looks very pretty when written downGrin

Nerida - mermaid
Tallulah - leaping water

There are lots of daughters of the ocean and sea nymphs with cool names in mythology. Thetis, Doris, Eudora, Admete, Clio, Electra, Ida (there's loads); and Niamh in Irish mythology.

I love the name Ocean. I think it’s really beautiful.

avocadoincident · 11/12/2018 09:02

Môr has a nice rolling 'r' sound too at the end. A nice middle name I think

Have you tried this site? It's great for finding names by meaning www.babynamespedia.com/names/girl/sea-related

Kaia is one of my all time favorites! Almost called my daughter it. Was considering Kaimana and Kaia for short. Its 100% the name of my next daughter (if I have another one). Ended up naming my daughter another water related name.. Not sharing though as its super rare Grin

ZebraKid71 · 11/12/2018 13:12

I love Kaia, but it is actually very common in my area - with all the kaia, kaya, maia, maya etc.

AdaColeman · 11/12/2018 13:20

Ondine
Sandrine

Cosmoa · 11/12/2018 14:29

I love Kaia, but it is actually very common in my area - with all the kaia, kaya, maia, maya etc.

This is why I didn't go for it in the end... I've loved it for years but I realised how popular Maya/Maia was do it's probably gonna grow in popularity too Sad

Cosmoa · 11/12/2018 14:30

So it's*

headshoulderskneesandtoe · 12/12/2018 15:01

@Cosmoa my daughters name is also quite rare and 'water based'. Wonder if it's the same (I've never seen it on any forum)
