DD is Eleanor.

Here are some names we like but haven't found the 'one' - and due in two weeks!

Bethany
Ivy
Matilda
Violet - bit pretentious maybe?!

Driving me crazy!!

Verity is much nicer than Violet.
Don’t like Ivy - poison ivy, and horrible creeper thing.
Matilda is nice.
Bethany is dd2’s middle name but maybe getting a bit dated now. Bethan is the Welsh version, I think?

OohOohMrPeevly · 11/12/2018 18:19

Love all except Bethany.

AnotherRoadsideAttraction · 11/12/2018 18:20

Absolutely nothing pretentious about the name Violet! Lovely, classic name and goes well with Eleanor.

TatianaLarina · 11/12/2018 18:23

Bethany is awful.

Matilda goes best with Eleanor - medieval queens.

Love Violet, dislike Ivy.

Cookit · 11/12/2018 19:17

Lovely apart from Bethany.

twoundertwo54321 · 11/12/2018 19:23

Bethany is beautiful and I've always loved Beth - timeless just like your other name Elenor.

stonygreysoil · 11/12/2018 19:40

rosalind

stonygreysoil · 11/12/2018 19:42

Rosalind would fit well and you would have Ellie and Rosie for nicknames.

bridgetreilly · 11/12/2018 20:27

I actually like all your names. Other ideas you might like:
Miranda
Eliza
Naomi
Annabel
Phoebe
Juliet

EloisaJane · 12/12/2018 21:49

Really don't like Ivy, Eleanor is in a different league to it.
Violet is my favourite of your other names. Matilda is nice but very 'now' and Bethany is nice but reminds me of Coronation Street and is a bit 90's. I love Beth though. Bethan?

Groovee · 12/12/2018 21:50

Alice

moredoll · 12/12/2018 21:52

I don't think Violet's pretentious.

Rosalind
Anna
Grace

FairyFantastic · 12/12/2018 22:23

I have a Violet. Was worried about popularity but it's not too bad at the moment, definitely on the rise (I've met school teachers who haven't taught any Violet's, but nursery teachers who have met a couple). Definitely not pretentious!
Never met an Ivy. Lovely name.
Matilda is nice.
I like the nickname Beth but I know a lot of Bethany's (very popular name in my year) but it's one of those names that will be around for a long time. Like it.

Owletterocks · 12/12/2018 22:30

When I read your list I thought ‘Edith’ nn Edie. I think it goes well with Eleanor.

Out of your list I like Violet and Matilda

RebeccaWrongDaily · 12/12/2018 22:53

Eleanor and Alice are too similar IMO
Eleanor and Beatrice
Lara
Phoebe
Clara
Sara
Maggie
Tessa
Sophie

loveiseverything · 12/12/2018 23:38

I love Matilda but DH won't budge on it 😦

17caterpillars1mouse · 13/12/2018 09:02

I like Bethany though prefer the simplicity of Bethan

PainSnail · 13/12/2018 09:07

Bryony? I always thought that was a nice alternative to bethany. Cecily or Cicily would be lovely with matilda too

PurpleAndTurquoise · 13/12/2018 09:08

Violet is great. She could be Lottie for a nickname.

Olive
Tulah
Isolde
Enela
Joy
Liberty

Bigonesmallone3 · 13/12/2018 09:11

Love ivy

MamaDane · 13/12/2018 09:17

Violet is lovely. Ivy is a good name too.

What about Josephine, Caroline, Christine, Alba, Vanessa, Sarah, or perhaps Amber?

Lara53 · 13/12/2018 11:16

Tilda instead of Matilda? I love Violet

ForAMinuteThere · 15/12/2018 18:22

Ivy is beautiful.

Crimbobimbo · 15/12/2018 18:25

Violet.

Or beatrice.

sickmumma · 16/12/2018 11:29

Elenor and Evelyn?
