Third boy help!

Ipanema01 · 07/12/2018 14:04

I have two boys and have just found out I’m having another Grin
I find boys names so difficult and need help!
I have a Rafe and a Milo, and prefer slightly less heard of, non traditional names.
I’ve listed some ideas below but am not sure on any and am ready for some backlash on some of them. I keep coming back to Otis. Any thoughts on others I might like?
Otto
Rudy
Scout
Atlas
Atticus
Caspar

Another thought: Sonny?

ForAMinuteThere · 07/12/2018 21:05

Bloody love Rudy. Told someone I know with that name and he said do not name your child it, his life was hell apparently!

I so wish I had though.

Actually love all of your list and your current names! Otto would go well wkth them I think.

lljkk · 07/12/2018 21:08

Rudy=Rude? Or the bat (Giuliani).
Caspar is the only one that works for me.

Ipanema01 · 07/12/2018 21:20

Thanks everyone! I like Artie but would probably want Arthur as a full name, though it’s gotten so popular recently. It was on my list last time. Milo was also very nearly Arlo but I think they’re too similar sounding to have both.

Is Atlas an actually name or recently made up?! I really like it and it’s so different but is it a bit of a mouthful?

No worries re. the third boy comment, my header isn’t v well worded. I’m really excited to have another lovey boy! Name wise a girl would definitely have been easier Smile

I loved Rudy last time and all my family love it but I’m not sure if it could potentially be chavvy sounding? To me it’s a naughty cool name but just not sure! Cosmo I have always liked but I don’t think DH will go for it.

Any others? I feel like I’ve heard every name EVER.

And I’ve heard of Otis lifts, thanks for that one Hmm

In English Rudy sounds like rudy-ey, someone rude!

In other languages Rudolph or Rudy works better imo.

MiseryLoves · 07/12/2018 21:29

Ralph?

sunshineNdaisies · 07/12/2018 21:32

If you called your boy Atlas, it could be a bit awful for him if he doesn't turn out to be big and beefy as in Greek mythology, but I'm sure you've considered that! By the same token, Scout is a girl in Mockingbird...

I love Caspar.

Ipanema01 · 08/12/2018 11:04

Thanks for all the suggestions!

Good point about Atlas, it wouldn’t really work on a slight little thing would it. I’m currently living in a house full of rugby players though sooo... Smile
I don’t know if I can pull off Scout, I just love it.

We liked Diggory.
Nn Digger when little and Rory when older

L0kiWh0 · 08/12/2018 11:13

Diggory is awesome! It’s my sons best friends name (lovely boy, brought me round some chocs for my birthday last month!)

He was diggers in primary school, but, he now gets called Cedric, after the character cedric diggory from Harry Potter (luckily he likes it)

dustarr73 · 08/12/2018 11:16

How about Jago.Ezra,Arlo,Jackson,.Jude,Lucas,Harley,Noel,Bram,and i think Zane would be a fab addition

Op i have 5 boys ,so i know the terror you are feeling now.

Cornishclio · 08/12/2018 11:22

When I think of Atlas I think of a huge boy so comes with preconceptions. Similarly Scout makes me think small, not sure why though and if you don't care about that it doesn't matter. I like Caspar and Otto. Unusual but as you already have uncommon names for your other two you need to do the same for the third. Congrats.

Crimbobimbo · 08/12/2018 11:24

Otis is great. Or Jasper?

Astronica · 09/12/2018 11:32

I love your 2 boys' names, Rafe and Milo! They are favourites of mine. I wouldn't use Otis with a Milo because of the Milo and Otis film. Am I the only one old enough to remember this? However it's a good name and if the film reference doesn't worry you it's a fine choice.

I love Caspar with your family. Atticus is okay but I'm not a fan of any of the others. I wouldn't use Otto with Milo - too many o endings for me.

MollyHuaCha · 09/12/2018 12:48

I know an Otto. Nice name.

Ipanema01 · 19/12/2018 15:46

Thanks everyone for the suggestions! Still thinking away and still swinging towards Otis...
Some of the good suggestions I can't use for one reason or another.

Cassius, Rex, Jasper.

I like Caspar with Rafe and Milo.

Thesearmsofmine · 19/12/2018 20:42

I love Otis with your boys names. I have three boys too and picking a name for ds3 was so difficult!
