Is Quentin growing in popularity? It’s been on my list since we started trying (ivf baby so literally years), but I don’t want an overly popular or trend driven name (I have one and hate it).

I know only one. Really like it!

pipilangstrumpf · 06/12/2018 12:23

We have a Quentin and he's the only one in his school. We've met a couple of younger ones but I don't think it's very popular.

lebkuchenlover · 06/12/2018 12:28

It's been rising up the charts but there were still only 31 boys named Quentin last year, so its not overly popular.

I really like it. Reminds me of the lovely Quentin Blake.

ZebraKid71 · 06/12/2018 13:05

I absolutely love it! And I don't know any.

halfwitpicker · 06/12/2018 13:06

I absolutely love it. DS could have been quentin but DH disagreed.

Uncle

We have a Quentin and know only one other one locally (different school year). It may be rising in popularity but I don't think it's overly popular.

Enidblyton1 · 06/12/2018 13:16

I love it - I do know one little Quentin, but I really wouldn’t worry that it will become too popular. It’s one of those names which is quite polarising and I can’t ever see it being adopted by the masses!

sonniboo · 06/12/2018 13:19

Quentin is a great name, but not (yet) very popular. It feels a little bit like a name like Sebastian did 5 years ago (quite polarised) so it may well rise in popularity.

stargazer124 · 06/12/2018 13:25

I only know one toddler called Quentin, so don't think it's very popular. I quite like it.

NameChangeToAvoidBeingFound · 06/12/2018 13:51

Love the name Quentin. For some reason I always picture a little boy with very red to reddish brown hair with blue, green or grey eyes. Same with the name Casper.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 06/12/2018 13:59

I have seen it quite a lot on here of late. I'm not keen on it at all.

slippermaiden · 06/12/2018 14:06

Never met a Quentin but do know a few Quintons.... which is a name I like.

RomanyRoots · 06/12/2018 14:06

There's a Quentin at dd school, so 14/15 years old. He's from another European country not sure which, but his mum told me it's popular there.

gummibears · 06/12/2018 14:13

I only know one and think it's a great name.

GemmeFatale · 07/12/2018 00:56

RomanyRoots actually the European thing is part of the appeal. We have family in mainland Europe (mostly Spain and Germany) and may have to move country for DH’s job in the future so something that is fairly recognisable outside of the uk is a plus (its not a deal breaker, but in an ideal world a nice to have).

I don't really like the name personally but it's been on here a lot recently!
