Long, traditional names?

I have 3 DC and am hoping for a fourth some time in the next few years. All my DC have names I would consider traditional - and quite long: Francesca, Harriet and Nicholas. I'd definitely like to keep this going for my fourth, but I'm honestly stuck. I don't want all my DC to have super long names and seem like a posh twat! My DH likes Jonathan for a boy, but I've been leaning towards Arthur for a boy. We have 0 name ideas for a girl (hoping for a boy, we already have two girls and would like it evened out!)

Georgina
Catharine
Christina
Matilda

bertram Whilst I do love Georgina, it would mean I have three daughters with 'boy' nicknames, which I'd prefer to avoid. I do love Matilda though!

I definitely don't think you sound like a posh twat with those names. I prefer Jonathan over Arthur just because every baby/toddler class I go to at the moment is full of Arthurs!

Francesca and Harriet were both on my list for dd1, as was Tabitha, Clementine and Rebekah which may fit your criteria.

I don’t like Arthur personally and it seems out of sync with your other names.

I think Jonathan would fit very nicely with Nicholas. Alternatively, how about Christan or (my favourite) Robert?

MacavityTheDentistsCat · 28/11/2018 21:17

And for a girl, I second Louisa.

Thank you all so much! There's been a few names on this list that both me and DH have absolutely fallen in love with.

For girls, I adore Florence, but worry it's slightly too close to Francesca. We both love Penelope and Aurelia, and think either of those would fit in perfectly (also Penny is such a cute NN, honestly.)

For boys, a few people have suggested Nathaniel, and I feel like that kind of just clicked straight away as the perfect name! Then again, so has Edward. Maybe I'll just have to hope for two! (Just kidding, I definitely couldn't handle another set of twins!)

One of my twins is Penelope. We get so many complements on it (makes me feel bad for her sister!)
