I've been going back and forth for a while, I just can't find a name i really love. This is my 5th and they all have quite different names to eachother, all starting with different letters. So I'd say names starting with R, C, S and F are off limits. I'm looking for a fairly unusual name

My DS is called Jude - only heard of another one. Although a mean old lady told me it was a girl's name 🙈🤷🏼‍♀️

Livpool my son is Jude! I too had an old lady ask why I gave him a girls name and my Aunty (who is old) asked if it was short for Judas...with a sarky smile🙈

Shadow1234 · 27/11/2018 21:33

My little boy is called Rudy, we love it. It’s so different and we only know one Rudy and he’s ours.

Ha CBeebies - why are they so rude?! I know Judith can be shortened to Jude but that is not their name! Ha ha - my Nan's church is St Jude's (apparently different from Judas) and she was thrilled 😄

BertrandRussell · 28/11/2018 10:50

Patrick. Best name ever.

Winterwonderland12 · 28/11/2018 13:59

I know a Judith known as Jood or Judy.

The thing I don't like about Jude is that it doesn't travel well, for example it's pronounced Yoo-deh in German and means Jew.

Thanks for your input winter 😂
Jew is hardly an offensive word so I’m not particularly bothered by that...children are called Christian after all and doesn’t do them any harm.

Winterwonderland12 · 28/11/2018 16:21

There's of course nothing offensive about Jews, I was just pointing out that some names travel better than others and that Jude is a noun rather than a name in another country. This may of course not bother you Smile
