Which do you prefer?
I love both names, despite such negative comments about Rupert in family/friends.
Ta muchly :-)

Louis is lovely, not so much Rupert though OK for a middle.

It's taken me 3 attempts to not read "Rupert Louis" as "Robert Louis" as in Stevenson. In reality though, unless hyphenated, how often are middle names used beyond naming a baby and getting married?

Astronica · 22/11/2018 12:57

I love both names so can see your dilemma! But the gorgeous Rupert just gets the edge for me - Rupert Louis.

Winterwonderland12 · 22/11/2018 13:38

I agree - Rupert is lovely and strong!

Louis is often pronounced the French way, Lou-ee, as well as the German/American way, Lou-is.

So definitely Rupert Louis.

Pemba · 22/11/2018 13:50

Rupert is a bit of a silly name though if I'm honest. Makes you think of old fashioned upper class twits like Bertie Wooster. Or Rupert the Bear of course.

Really like Louis though.

Pimpernell · 22/11/2018 15:00

Louis is lovely.

Rupert is a chinless, milksop of a man. Not a name I’d plump for in a million years.

BlaaBlaaBlaa · 22/11/2018 15:03

I also read Robert Louis....took me a while to see Rupert.

Not overly keen on Rupert. There are a couple at my son's pre-school though

Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 22/11/2018 15:04

Both are lovely.
Rupert Louis has the edge for me though.

Peachbubble · 22/11/2018 15:25

Rupert Louis definitely.

lebkuchenlover · 22/11/2018 16:05

Rupert

Don't like Louis and would get annoyed with the different pronunciations

Shadow1234 · 22/11/2018 16:15

Much prefer Louis, not keen on Rupert tbh.

Sophronia · 22/11/2018 17:48

Rupert Louis

The only Rupert I know is a huge bouncer, definitely not chinlessGrin

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 22/11/2018 18:03

I love Rupert but I think it’s a hard name to carry off. I love Louis as well.

I’d go for Louis Rupert

mummyofboys30 · 22/11/2018 18:30

Thank you so far everyone. Seems we are about 50/50 for Rupert Louis or Louis Rupert though at the minute!

Rupert Louis - I think Louis works well as a middle name. It's my nephews middle and it ties his name together really well.

mummyofboys30 · 23/11/2018 09:12

Edging slightly towards Rupert Louis now I think.
