What are people’s opinions on Mila (pronounced Mee-la) for a girl? X

Well there's a Mila in my DD's class and she's always called Miller....really annoys her Mum!

I hate it. However I love Milla pronounced MEE-ya, I also like the pronunciation “Miller” (Milla short for Camilla)

I know a Mila (pronounced Mee-la) age 2 and a Mila (pronounced My-la) age around 50.

The two year old has a dad from a Russia so that’s why her name was chosen. It’s very pretty in my opinion.

I don't like it, be ause it makes me think of Mila-18 (an historical novel about the Holocaust) and milia (a rash).

@JellySlice oh my god I was starting to think I was the only one who thought of the rash and spots! A few people on my social media have named their kids this and it's literally all I can think of

Yes but def pronounced miller, it sounds wrong as mee-la

Milla would be Mill-a

Miller would be Mill-er

Makes me think of mealworms and Millia (sp?) Those white spots you get around your eyes.

I like it, but I read it as My-la (Because Milo is pronounced My-lo) - so it's one of those names that may be mispronouced all the time!

I'd assume Meela. But I also say Meelo for Milo!

It's okay but will be pronounced wrong a lot. I know a Myla and I love her name! Said exactly how it's spelt My-La

The myla/meela thing would put me off it personally, though I think your pronunciation of it is nicer than the alternative. It's a nice enough name I think, would suit any age. However I feel it's a bit too similar to Mia for me.

I quite like it. I think that may be because I know that the Polish word "miła" (pronounced mee-wa) means nice or pleasant.

I really like it. It makes me think of Mila Kunis. I like this pronunciation the best.
