Opinions on Mason for a boy or 3 poss girls names

ivebeenwaitinginthedarkness · 19/11/2018 22:09

I'm thinking Mason for a boy and stuck between 3 names Alice, Beatrice & Jemima for a girl. DH doesn't seem to mind as long as they take the family middle names which are harmless --dull.

What do you think ?

Mason is lovely! I like Alice or Beatrice

DramaAlpaca · 19/11/2018 22:18

Your girls' names are nice, especially Alice & Beatrice, but I don't like Mason at all. It's just a rather boring surname being used as a first name & I don't like the look or sound of it. Sorry, but you did ask! Not that it matters, but it's also completely different in style to the girls' names on your list.

Sophronia · 19/11/2018 23:30

Your girls names are lovely, but I’m not keen on Mason.

teachergirl2011 · 19/11/2018 23:31

It's a naughty boy name and there are loads of them!!!

moredoll · 20/11/2018 02:16

Alice.
I like Mason, I don't love it.

MrsFoxPlus4 · 20/11/2018 03:25

I like Mason, I do know a few. Don’t like Jemima

loobywench · 20/11/2018 03:28

Don't like Mason but like the girls names Smile

cheesefield · 20/11/2018 06:45

Your girls names are lovely. Mason is awful though.

cptartapp · 20/11/2018 07:08

Mason has connotations round here, and it's a surname to me.
Alice and Beatrice are nice enough, Jemima is too babyish.

ivebeenwaitinginthedarkness · 20/11/2018 08:52

I'm finding boys names quite difficult. I also like Cameron, but I'm not sure.

I do feel my girls names are more romantic, but boys names are harder to find that type of name.

I'm not keen on Mason but it's fine. I've heard a lot worse! Your girls names are nice. I find Jemima a bit posh

TatianaLarina · 20/11/2018 10:30

Lovely girls names but Mason is the new Kevin imo.

It’s Myson or Mayson in a London accent.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 20/11/2018 11:01

Like all 3 girls names. Dislike Mason sorry.

blahblahblah18 · 20/11/2018 11:03

Mason is dreadful. Girls names are fine

Flamingosnbears · 20/11/2018 11:20

Cameron is lovely or how about Lorcan?
Your girls names are all good choices whatever you go with I doubt little one wouldn't approve.

SauvingnonBlanketyBlanc · 20/11/2018 11:26

I'm biased as mason is my ds name and I can assure you it's NOT a naughty boys name

lebkuchenlover · 20/11/2018 11:27

I really like your girls names! Beautiful and elegant.

I dislike Mason a lot.

RedRoseReb · 20/11/2018 11:31

Mason is very much in fashion now. It's in the top 10 US and we seem to be merging UK naming with theirs.

Personally I don't like names that have come out of nowhere but of course that's why they sound fresh so I do get why others like them.

Cameron is a far better name imo.

lebkuchenlover · 20/11/2018 12:13

Mason is in fashion?! I've not met a single one..!

shaggedthruahedgebackwards · 20/11/2018 12:15

The only Mason I know IRL definitely falls in to the naughty boy category - sorry

I like all your girls names

ColdCrumpetsAndButter · 20/11/2018 12:17

Mason is not for me I'm afraid.

Really like Beatrice and also Alice.

daisypond · 20/11/2018 12:19

I like Beatrice and Alice. Jemima is fine. Not keen on Mason. Cameron is nice.

Trinpy · 20/11/2018 12:21

Mason is my least favourite name ever (no offence to pp who used it for their ds - you'd probably hate my name choices too Grin). It was very popular locally when my eldest ds was born so I've met quite a few and I just think it sounds horrible.

Cameron is lovely. All the girls names are nice but Alice is my favourite.

OhTheRoses · 20/11/2018 12:24

Mason, Gary, Kevin, Wayne, Dean, Jayden. Whatever floats your boat op but Mason seems as though it belongs to a genre thst will both date and categorise.

RedRoseReb · 20/11/2018 12:24

I've not met one but I don't meet many babies these days!

It was ranked in the 3Os in England and Wales last year.
