Asking for a friend!

Are rhyming names for siblings a total no-no?

e.g. Annabel & Gabrielle / Isabella & Marcella etc

And of Y, what about similar but not rhyming

e.g. Gabriella and Annabel / Isabella & Marcelle

Makes them sound a bit like a couple of kittens/puppies.

It’s not really giving them their own individual space/identity somehow.

I would avoid rhyming names if possible. It could be confusing when calling their names and I'm not a fan of 'matchy' names

I’m not a fan of matcha either.
If I was lucky enough to have twins, my names are very separate...

I don't think two names with the same ending works.

The second option, one -el and one -ella ending, is better.

I think Annabel and Gabrielle are fine. The inflections are different.

Ohyesiam · 14/11/2018 20:24

Nooooooooo!

IamAporcupine · 14/11/2018 20:25

I do not like it at all, sorry

Picknickers · 15/11/2018 00:36

It sounds a bit naff. Sorry.

I don't like rhyming names, though I guess if you have -el and -ella, that's not so bad.
