Yet another name that has been added to my list, which is getting longer with only ten weeks to go and not any shorter!!
Opinion's on the name Hope?

The meaning is nice but I don't like the sound of it.

DramaAlpaca · 10/11/2018 22:05

It can be a beautiful name but it depends very much on the accent of the person saying it.

missmouse101 · 10/11/2018 22:08

It's ok. Prefer Faith! It's 'opinions' without apostrophe btw. (Sorry, but can't bear it.)

RoseMartha · 10/11/2018 22:09

Lovely name

Phone auto corrected to "opinion's"...dont be so condescending :)

Sorry..."don't"

I like it, but would depend if you live somewhere people drop the H

missmouse101 · 10/11/2018 22:17

Not condescending, but when posting the written word on a public forum, these things matter! Sorry.

Londongirl888 · 10/11/2018 22:25

Nice, sorry a shade dull. Maybe see what your lovely baby looks like.

RavenWings · 10/11/2018 22:28

I think it's alright, nice enough but not amazing. Better than Grace which is deathly dull these days.

jackstini · 10/11/2018 22:32

I prefer as a middle name - if ds had been a dd it would have been

Shadow1234 · 10/11/2018 23:57

I actually love it!

infj4w5 · 11/11/2018 00:04

I recently found out via ancestry that my 9th time Irish grandmother was called Hope and I immediately thought what a lovely name. I also like Faith, Grace and Honor.

BikeRunSki · 11/11/2018 00:11

DD’s middle name, but named after the Hope Valley in Derbyshire rather than the virtue. DH and I used to live there, abs it is beautiful. Weren’t not far away now. DH jokes that we would have calls her Florence, but we can’t afford to go there so often.

Anyway, that is the reason Hope is part of DD’s name. It isn’t her first name was the local accent would change it to “Erp”.

Polkasq · 11/11/2018 02:56

Very nice.

moredoll · 11/11/2018 03:01

I really like it.

wizzler · 11/11/2018 06:20

Really like it.

Unicyclethief · 11/11/2018 06:26

I used to really like it. It was very popular in the 90s. I went off it massively when Fizz called her baby Erp.

daisypond · 11/11/2018 09:53

I like it a lot.

SuperstarDJ · 11/11/2018 19:57

Faith is my favourite virtue name followed by Verity. Hope is nice too unless you live somewhere where people drop the H due to their accent. ‘Ope isn’t so great.

CocoLoco87 · 11/11/2018 20:01

I want to like it because it's a virtue name, but even though they are also one syllable names, I prefer Faith and Grace. Hope is a bit...meh. But if you love it, then go for it!

TatianaLarina · 11/11/2018 20:23

Prefer Honor.

If Hope is Erp in Derbyshire, in London it would Ope. Or more like Owp.

deptfordgirl · 11/11/2018 20:58

I really like it but the ones I know have been born after recurrent miscarriage and infertility so I always think of it in that context.

Lovemademedoit · 11/11/2018 21:00

Really lovely
